Cashner is a closer, and Rizzo is a roided up 1st basemen.

Comparing a starter with one good half season to first ballot hall of famer 4? time Cy Young Winner and the most dominant lefty of his era is something I believe Sox fans here would ridicule (regardless of what type comparison it was)

Mike Trout is a twice in a generation talent (Harper). B Jax will get nowhere near him.

Jacksons ceiling is Angel Pagan (which would be fine)

The high pathetical of a #1 starter vs a slugger can be argued endlessly. What Rickety said about the Starter for post season and position player for regular season seems logical but hard to make the playoffs without a good regular season.

You need both.

Rizzo is pretty good so far

Did anyone watch MLB network about a week, week and a half ago? They compared Chris Sale to Randy Johnson by putting both their throwing motions side by side. They were nearly identical. Dan Plesac said Chris Sale was the closest thing he's ever seen to Randy Johnson.

And Juan Cruz was the closest thing to Pedro Martinez. Who gives a shit who his delivery resembles when he pitches?

I don't think that sort of detail would stop Sox fans from mocking Cub fans for any sort of comparison. "Cub fans think this guy is Randy Johnson  " would be the refrain

That's just how it works.

Jim Hendry has a very big tool set. It was sent to him piece-by-piece in the mail by Mike Murphy over the course of many years.

I wouldn't touch that list of free agents. They are all old as hell. And why in the hell is Corey Patterson on it? He is in AAA.

The only guy I would even consider signing is Jeff Mathis to catch.

i have a question for all of the rizzomaniacs out there.... i just made a trade in my deep keeper league where i basically traded rizzo for matt moore straightup.

right now, would you rather have anthony rizzo or matt moore going forward?

In fantasy, Moore just for his K total

In real life: Right now Rizzo. But I like Moore. That could change. Toss up.

I believe Jason Goff is reporting someone on Twitter is reporting that Cashner will always get hurt and a running thread on each game the 2 play is not needed to see who won this trade.

Rizzo has played exactly 1/6th of an MLB season

.369/.572/.941 with 7 HR and 17 RBI (42 and 102 extrapolated over a full 162 games)

seems logical...I'll pencil him in for that next year. Jordan Danks is going to have a monster year

Totally. Thats exactly what I meant.

I expect him to hit exactly 42 homeruns for 20 years and break A Rod's record

Thanks for bringing up Jordan Danks cause something has been bothering me.

He has a .314 average and a .306 OBP.

How is that possible?

There is actually a good chance he gets NL player of the month for July. I thought I read that his stats since arriving are better than any other NL player.
