I haven't had any Raccoon issues on the roof since getting my dog. I guess he's good for something...

I get to work this morning, and was greeted by the raccoon. Not even sure if the thing saw me.....the police were called, and they took him out to the woods.....my guess is that it will be back soon. I'll post the picture when my phone stops acting funny.

I thought legally they are supposed to kill them?

Law has nothing to do with it. It's their responsibility as a human.

Somebody else can look it up but according to an Illinois law, raccoons that are captured are supposed to be euthanized. Or, at least that's what the voices always tell me...

Don't think they killed him...just took him to the woods behind our building.

I think that is true Ivan. Back in Jr college, I worked at a lumber yard and we caught 3 or 4 of them and they were all put down.

They are very territorial so releasing them is not good. They will end up getting attacked and/or killed back in the wild.

"Rescued" = "heel to the face?"

I don't even understand this. But Boyd thinks it's hysterical, so maybe that's not a bad thing.

We went to the local dirt track for Friday night racing, and the winner of the B-mod feature said over the microphone that he dodged a family of 5-6 racoons on the backstretch DURING THE RACE. this was after 3 other features and a fireworks show!

You really didn't get it? It wasn't even subtle humor.

Supposedly you have a large head. If that racoon's head was not as large as it is he probably wouldn't be in that predicament. Sam's saying that type of problem must happen to you alot.

A Lakewood, Wash. woman was chased and mauled by several raccoons near Fort Steilacoom Park, south of Seattle, Monday, leaving her with about 100 scratches, punctures and bite wounds.

Around 1:30 p.m. Monday, Michaela Vee, 28, was jogging with her dog near her home at the edge of the park when her dog got loose and started chasing some raccoons. Turns out, the raccoons included a mama raccoon and her babies, said Lt. Chris Lawler with Lakewood Police.

Her dog chased the raccoons up a tree. When Lee went to fetch her dog, more raccoons came out of the brush and began chasing her. Lee took off running with at least five raccoons chasing after her.

I don't think you need to encourage cops to kill more things.

quick little bastards....she probably didn't have a chance.

I'm wondering how many of us could outrun 5 angry raccoons.
I'll put myself at the mean because I'm 50/50 at best depending on the day.

If they invaded a board get together we'd all be safe. We wouldn't have to outrun all of the raccoons, we'd just have to be able to outrun Frank.
