One way or the other.

SHARK can fill everyone in on the matchups.

Sox get swept. Cubs fans crow.

Surprised you still come around after this monstrosity:

cpguy wrote:
It's either the Sox or the Mets.

Let's objectively analyze the Sox:

1. Shit ML roster
2. Shit farm system
3. Shit management team
4. Ownership has to be questioned as well for being to loyal

The only other organization I can think of as fucked as the Sox is the Mets due to the Madoff scandal ravashing their finances. The Dodgers would be up there but they are being sold, so that situation is being resolved.

Then you have "Kenny" running around trading his cost controlled closer for an A ball pitcher (albeit with good stats) when clearly he couldn't have gotten way more value.

Who is worse and why??

1. The ML team is doing well but has to prove it can close this season out successfully
2. The farm system remains poor even though a few guys have emerged for the ML roster (but they still have to close out the year)
3. I do give Kenny credit for late season acquisitions and the RV hire (although his support is now waning)
4. Ownership remains stubborn in its modus operandi so the ML team must succeed to validate this MO

As to that Toronto trade, it has not born fruit and they certainly could use some help from that trade at the ML level as they stagger to the finish line.

With Rios, Dunn and Peavy earning their money this year and with Sale emerging as an ace, clearly the Sox have established themselves as a legit AL Central contender, but frankly I don't see this team as a threat to advance in the playoffs if they manage to make it that far. And with the farm system still rated extremely poor, I can't honestly say the future is bright. And given the ML roster has alot of age, the organization as a whole is facing a challenging future. Then factor in the lack of fan support (poor marketing dept?) makes the revenue equation that much more problematic at all levels.

No, my characterization of the Sox as "the shittiest in all of baseball" hasn't proven accurate this season, but clearly overall they are middle of the pack AT BEST and in reality, probably a lower third tier franchise with MAJOR CHALLENGES AHEAD...

It sounds like Gavin will return this week either on Wednesday or Thursday. Unless the Sox lose the first 3 games that will probably push Sale back to Friday in Minnesota.

Therefore completely admissible here in Illinois.

Guys, Gavin Floyd is eligible to come off the DL as soon as tomorrow, according to The SCORE's Chris "Ranger" Rongey. There's a chance that Floyd pitches the finale of that Tigers' series instead of Sale vs. Justin Verlander Thursday night, but I'm not sure what the team's plan is for Floyd moving forward.

Hopefully he has that same reaction if the White Sox take 3 out of 4 or sweeps the Tigers.

I don't see the logic in that given Sale's home/away numbers and the importance of the games against the Tigers.

However, as maddeningly inconsistent as Gavin Floyd has been overall, he's historically done very well vs. Detroit.

Something else to consider. The White Sox have just 1 more scheduled off day the rest of this regular season, and that's one week from today. While they haven't necessarily made their plans following this series, the Sox would like to give guys like Chris Sale & tonight's starter, Jose Quintana, extra rest between now & the rest of the 162-game season. It's also unclear if Sale might be looking at a Stephen Strasburg-like innings limit like what the Nationals have done in shutting Stephen down.

Gavin is 7-2 3.42 in his career and 1-0 1.38 in 2 starts this year against the Tigers. It will give Sale an extra day of rest and I'll be able to watch him pitch this weekend in Minnesota. :D

When Quintana first came up he worked fast. Now he works slower than shit. They really have to work with him to get him back to that get it and throw it mode.
