The Bears haven't won a game this year because of Cutler. The loss to GB could rightfully be blamed on his play. That's been the issue since he's been here. He's personally cost the Bears about 10 games and I can't recall a game where he put the team on his back. He lacks the leadership of guys like Orton and Grossman too. The guy has all the talent in the world but his ego is too big and he's too stubborn to get out of his own way. It's beyond frustrating for me.
The Cowboy game in 2010, the GB win in 2010, the win at Det in 2010, the Charger win last year were games that the Bears won with minimal help from the running game.
Where was Forte against the Texans? The difference in that game wasn't the QB's since the Qb's from both teams sucked. But Foster ran for over 100 years while Forte ran for 38. If Forte is the best offensive playe on this team, as some people say, then he needs to step up his game too.
Cutler hasn't thrown in interception in only 2 games this season. As much as he wanted his old offense back he's been sacked 6 more times this season than he was during the same time period last season. He's only thrown for more than 186 yards 4 times this season and has thrown for 150 yards or less 3 times. He has more turnovers than touchdowns too. He has 500 fewer yards too.
The defense was huge in the Chargers game last year. They put the game away with interceptions. If you recall Cutler was injured throwing his usual pick.
In the Lions game the defense held the Lions to 14 points (this was the game that Calvin Johnson's touchdown was wiped out) and Forte had over 200 yards from scrimmage. They won this game 19-14 and Cutler had 2 turnovers. One of his 2 touchdowns was all Forte on an 89 yard touchdown on a screen pass.
In the Dallas game the Bears picked Romo off twice and Tillman forced a fumble. Once again the defense set the table. This was the only game that Cutler didn't throw an interception in.
I looked back at the GB game and Hester ran back a touchdown and the defense played a hell of a game. Cutler didn't put the team on his back. A penalty wiped out Cutler's 2nd interception of the game. Because of that the Bears kicked the winning FG.
Once again none of these were games where Cutler put the team on his back. The defense and/or special teams set the table in all of these game. He hasn't had the moment yet despite all the talent he has. Kyle Orton did more in Denver with Marshall and mediocre running backs than Cutler has done since he's been in Chicago. This is a fact. The excuses really need to stop. We all have eyes and can look back on the games we forgot about.
