My god, who cares? Even if it was a slam dunk that Grace should be retired it doesn't mean that this is what should be discussed right now on the air, let alone making interesting radio. So lets say his number WAS retired, how does that make Harry's or any other Cub fan's life different? It DOESN'T. On the other hand discussing how the Cubs can improve and make the playoffs and possibly the World Series IS IMPORTANT to sports radio listeners and especially Cub fans. That's what your job is as the #1 sports show in this market. While you're at it talking about Grace number retirement, why don't you go all the way like Patrick and talk steroids and hall of fame as well.

Harry's focus is what is the problem with many Cubs fans (not all, but many.) What they care about DOESN'T MATTER when it comes to standings/winning/championships. They want the Cubs to be "fun" and allow Wrigley to be a "party." To me, if I was Harry, I would be crusading for Jim Hendry to finally move Jones, asking why their bullpen blows, and what kind of deals can Hendry make before the deadline to get this team past Milwaukee.
Look, I am a Sox fan, but it would be awesome for the city of Chicago for every team to finally win a championship in my lifetime. I'm not one of those Sox fans who celebrate when the Cubs lose, as the first word in the team's name is "Chicago" and any time a Chicago team wins, that's a good thing. (Ok, save those 6 interleague games, but you get my point.) Anything that would make Joe Buck sound like the miserable bastard that he is in October brings a smile to my face, and considering how miserable he was with the Sox winning? Could you imagine the disappointment in his voice if the Cubs won?
It's this type of crap that gets me to tune to another station when MJH gets going on this. Enough already.
