I give Trestman & Enery props for not screwing around with hiring coaches. They filled nearly every coach position in just a few days. It took Lovie Smith Months to hire just an OC.

I like that they aren't screwing around with things and that they are making quick and definitive decisions...but......if you go back in time 1 year and you take this entire coaching staff, it could have been the coaching staff at Illinois.

Look at the entire list and then say that to yourself. Kromer is legit and Decamillas is decent but the rest are extremely questionable.

You could say the same thing about the previous Bears coaching staff too.

Regardless of their records....there were previous NFL Head Coaches on that staff.

But the sucked at their jobs. Bad experience is bad experience.

(CBS) The Bears have reportedly completed their new coaching staff and the final hire is somewhat of a surprise.

According to BamaOnLine.com, Alabama wide receivers coach Mike Groh has accepted the same position with the Bears after interviewing with the team.

The hire is a surprise because Groh, 41, is also the Crimson Tide’s recruiting coordinator and widely regarded as one of the top recruiters in the country. He hasn’t coached in the NFL since 2000 when he started his coaching career with the New York Jets. After that season, he moved on to Virginia where he had played quarterback in the early 1990s.

Still, Groh is a highly respected wide receivers coach and for a position coach hiring, this one qualifies as a splash.

Bears head coach Marc Trestman said earlier Thursday that he would be announcing the new wide receivers coach in the next few days. It was the final position open on his staff.
