I created my guy and headed straight to the RTTS mode. I was drafted to play 2b by Pittsburgh and I'm stuck on their double AA team for at least a little while. I had preordered my game from gamestop so I was able to get 12k in bonus/training points to start my guy off. I also began the season playing on All-Star mode but after the first 20 or so games I changed it as I felt it was too unrealistic as I was hitting a homer almost every third at bad or so. I switched to Hall of Fame(I believe it's the next level up?) and I'm enjoying that level quite a bit more.
Damn, really? Did you focus many of those points on power?
I think my power ratings are about 50 for both lefties and righties...I had 1 HR in AA and 1 HR so far in AAA. Probably 180 AB's total or so.
The problem I have with Hall of Fame and Legend modes is that like 95% pitches seem out of the zone... I sometimes find it boring waiting for a pitch to hit. I don't want all fastballs...but I also don't want each at bat to take minutes. I like progressing through the RTTS relatively quickly. Weeks in a single sitting, if possible.
12k points to start out with is quite a bit. I think right now I'm still in AA ball and I'm about an 81 overall. I don't think anyone of my hitting categories right now is over 65-67 tops really. I would like to think I'm pretty well balanced. I didn't focus anything really at first on my arm because I figured I don't really need that much of an arm from 2nd. I think right now through 40 games or so I have 22 HRS
I think that's where I ended the game last night.
