How'd that turn out grilled? I tried roasting some in an oven to make vegetarian tacos but the end flavor left me wanting.

On a side note I made some BBQ chicken thighs tonight.

Went with BBQ chicken instead. The Tastefully Simple sauce is quite good. Hadnt used the grill since last October for a party...there was a petrified burger and bun still on the grill.

Any pork or beef from Fareway is top notch. Love the ham griller patties with pineapple. Not at the Ottumwa counter yet but soon.....

going with a steak teriyaki in the new wok tonight. been trying to "slow food" it lately, with the exception being our pizza addiction.

My salamander is currently out for servicing, otherwise I would...

Cast iron skillet and your oven. Takes ten minutes, and it's delicious.

I've never been a fan of steaks done in cast iron...prefer grilled.

i have to agree with greg.

we've used the cast iron over the winter to make filets with some sort of mushroom/wine demi-sauce thing that was excellent.

Cast iron skillets are a great way to cook burgers, as well.

I really believe in the cast iron skillet. Make everything in there, from simple tacos to baked chicken to fried chicken... you name it. I love the SHIT outta my cast iron skillet. If you've eaten at my house you've probably eaten from that skillet.

That being said I've been grilling a lot the last 4-5 days. Fuckin weather has me craving charcoal fired meat.

Made some ribs last weekend... oh em effing gee they were so goddamn good. Bought a cast iron smoker for my grill for $8 at menards and I love it.

I'm with Lipid, I prefer the grill(and charcoal). My pork tonight was outstanding.

Ribeyes, strip steaks, and pork chops are all getting cooked on the charcoal. A sirloin isn't quite as good of a cut. I prefer to marinade a sirloin for hours, and cook it in a skillet.

Didn't grill it but made a 3 lb meatloaf last night in the oven. Can't wait to move into a house in
a month or so and get back to grilling regularly.

I made a 2 lb. meatloaf last night. Half ground beef, half ground pork.

That sounds good, I need to try doing something like that. I just bought the beef from my local butcher to
try it out. So far it is pretty good but an awful lot of meat for one guy to eat and meatloaf doesn't taste quite
the same on day 3 as it does on day one.
