I assume every minute played is a stress on the body and that there is only a certain amount of stress the body could take in a career. Reserving the stress to a later date extends the career for a future contract while having no impact on the ability to earn in the present.

Yeah, but you have to factor in the somewhat unquantifiable aspect of how his reputation suffers and how that could ultimately affect his long term endorsements. Right now, it seems like a huge reach to say that this would affect future endorsement deals, but Im not sure it's that big of a reach. Dwight Howard was far more marketable in 2009 than he is today, despite being in Orlando at the time and currently being an LA Laker.

Money goes where talent lives. If anyone will be quick to forgive Rose, it will be ADIDAS.

That tweet about letting his teammates and fans know he would never miss a game is the opening salvo for the rest of the team to start taking veiled shots at Rose.

Ike once convinced some random board member to drive him Cleveland and back for a "road trip".

My first reaction was "this is a bad idea for Cairo" (or whoever it was). Over the next several days, Ike went over the top to try to close the deal, but ultimately Cairo backed out. I remember thinking "This is where the board and real life should not meet" and was genuinely concerned about Cairo's well-being. Turns out they bagged the trip, but I've always wondered "Does Ike smoke pot or something?".

In any event, I applaud him for being the first guy to lead the charge on this issue.

I thought the medically cleared tweet was a shot as well.

Only out of bounds plays not involving him would do that.

What is worse now, the Lebron 3 quarters joke, or the Lebron's Mom/Delonte West jokes?

the mom/west jokes can still draw a mild chuckle

I had a spinal tap and was fine! Although it was really creepy. Your ass is partially numb but you can still kinda feel the cerebro-spinal fluid oozing down your ass crack (at least I hope that's what it was).

Sometimes some of us post tweets or stories we think some folks here might find interesting.

There doesn't have to be a thought accompanied with it.

Then again, in my case, my dumbassness might have something to do with my lack of thought.

yeah, but (just my opinion)
you do post tweets a lot and i've given you shit for it
but you also post your opinion quite often
conns doesn't seem to do that, he's more like 80/20 copy-actual thought

Dusty said something in Spring Training to the effect of Chapman will be good when it warms up. Not sure what he means.

Just like Howard and Lebron did? People still hate both of those people, and this is worse than that.

He's literally refusing to enter every game.

The hate directed towards James has declined dramatically. The Howard hate continues to increase.

That's because people are frontrunners and Lebron won a title. I agree if Rose wins a title it will go away too.

Starting to fade on this.

Yeah, same here.

I would have at least made him dress last night. Just use him as a decoy to get in the Nets' head. Bring him out David Lee style for a quick 1-2 minute rotation just to get the crowd amped up. He could at least taken the 5 minutes they played Teague last night, and he would have been a hero.

Yep, last night was the night and he declined. And he has already declared himself out for game 7.

It's hard to believe he (and his people) are this stupid allowing his image nationally to be trashed, but that is exactly what has happened.

But hey, he has guaranteed millions so he doesn't give a shit. He feels if he can't play 40+ minutes right away, why should he play 15-20 minutes?

It's obvious it's all about D Rose. Fuck his teammates, fuck the organization and fuck the fans.

He is going to have to deliver an NBA title to regain what he has lost these last few weeks.

Stupid.

And shameful.

This is an extremely valid point.

Lebron shut his ass down in the past and I think he is afraid to face the Heat (literally and figuratively).
