Leading the league in minutes for two seasons would be a bad thing. Not to beat a dead horse, but the most attractive, tradeable player on the Bulls is Joakim Noah. It's not even close.

Joakim Noah isn't going anywhere. He's part of the foundation of this current Bulls' franchise. He's also not making the kind of $$$$ that Luol Deng is scheduled to make next year. If they're not about to amnesty Carlos Boozer until next summer, Deng's expendable thanks to the emergence of Jimmy Butler. He's the guy the Bulls should move.

Lucky for us Kenny Williams is no longer a GM!

He's also to the White Sox what John Paxson is to the Bulls.

We've gone back and forth on this before. I don't know if you're saying you personally think Noah shouldn't go anywhere, or that the Bulls believe Noah shouldn't go anywhere.

I would disagree in any case. If someone is going to overvalue Noah, then let it be a team other than Chicago. The salary difference between Noah and Deng is around two million (http://hoopshype.com/salaries/chicago.htm). A "foundation" of Rose, Noah, and Butler isn't going to get you anywhere.

Why do you think he'll have to leave to win?

I have very little faith in the Bulls upper management's ability/willingness to provide a secondary scoring option for Rose. With Rose as the best player, I believe this team will be a perennial second round out, with the occasional ECF appearance.

The main thing the Bulls have is the right coach. With the exception of the Spurs coach, there isn't any other coach that's better than Thibodeau. The Bulls just need one more player that can score in the starting lineup or a super sub.

In that case I'd agree with you, assuming GarPax continue to remain conservative and overvalue players like Deng and Noah.

I agree, but I think Rose will outlast this upper management regime

Rose would be smart to sign elsewhere once this paper is up. He could get Carmelo that ring.

Rose is not a free agent until 2017. I think this current contract is the most money he will make in his career. If he is going to drive the hole and get hammered he may not finish the contract without some serious injuries.

By the way, if you were in management's shoes, what would you do to bring in a legitimate star, or at least change some stuff up? Personally, as I said before, I think you see what you can get for your 27 year old, all NBA defense first team center.

Unfortunately he's the only movable piece to this puzzle. His value will never be higher than now. You have to shop Noah.

Interesting stat I just read:

Thibs has only lost 4 straight games twice in his coaching career. 2011 against the Heat in the playoffs, and 2013 against the Heat in the playoffs.

Yowza...

In 2011, he hadn't lost more than 2 consecutive games all season before losing 4 in a row to the Heat.
