He seems to enjoy hearing a caller laugh and gush over a segment more than anything. If a caller attempted to laugh at something Bernstein did, he'd probably mock the hell out of him....

My favorite Chet story was when some listener called into Dahl's show about standing in a buffet line with Chet. Chet was in full Chet mode holding up the line while engrossed in conversation and the guy said he took a piece of bacon off of Chet's plate, took a bite and put it back without Chet noticing. Chet denied it happening but he did admit he was at the event and had bacon.
