As far as running back I would go Rashan Salaan or the Penn ST one during Wanny times over Benson. Safety has to be Archuletta.

Salaam Stoned....hmm....good call....same with Enis...only one can be the # bust RB as benson the #4 overall takes the #1 slot

Archuletta was a FA pickup, way after his peak!

I bent the rules: high draft picks, trades, and noteworthy free agent deals.

WR1 - David Terrell
WR2 - Jaoquin Iglesias (runners up: Roy Williams & Marty Booker's second stint)
TE - Brandon Manumaleuna
RB1 - Cedric Benson
RB2 - Chester Taylor
QB - Cade McNown
QB2 - Kordell Stewart
LT - Marc Colombo (runner up: Frank Omiyale)
RT - Chris Williams (runner up: Orlando Pace)
RG -
LG -
C -

DB1 - Devin Hester (strictly as a defensive back)
DB2 - Thomas Smith
SS - Adam Archuleta
FS - Brandon Meriweather
LB1 - Bryan Cox
LB2 -
LB3 -
DE1 - Dan Bazuin
DE2 - Gaines Adams (runner up: Michael Haynes)
DT1 -
DT2 -

cant give you colombo, had a decent career as a cowboy, proving injury was the holding back issue

Pace, nah

Buzine, Bizine, or whatever...

The Pool Jumper! Also a good one

Considering the Bears got precisely jack squat shit out of Colombo during his Bears tenure, I think he fully qualifies for this list. Just because he went on to become useful doesn't invalidate the fact that he was a bust for the Bears.

DT 1- Pat Riley

He was a DT out of Miami (Fl). The Bears took him in the second round despite him being injured his senior season. Despite this injury that still wasn't healed by draft day, brilliant young coach Wannie just had to have him. I believe he was one of his guys when he coached at the U. Anyway, the guy never recovered from that injury. I don't believe he played a down of NFL football. I have forever soured on coaches being the GM after that.

There was a guy named Moore that was supposed to replace Sayers. They took him very early in the draft and he never did shit. He was probably a bigger bust than any of those guys.

WR - Mark Bradley. 2nd Round Pick (39 overall). Only caught 38 passes in 4 years.

And Salaam did have a 1000 yd rushing season though.

Also that dude from Oklahoma. Iglasias....can't remember if he was a 2nd or 3rd rounder though. But he was shitty.

I forget right/left, but Tackle Stan Thomas.

How about QB Rusty Lisch?

I think you gotta go with Micheal Haynes over Adams in Dewskie's list. Haynes was a first rounder who did nothing. Adams was acquired for a second or third round pick, and unfortunately we will never know what he could have done here. Haynes was a higher priced investment that indisputably returned nothing.

Jigs ate him.

Why is Spellman on this list? He didn't live up the hype, but I wouldn't call him a bust either.

Agreed.

And Spellman wasn't that that great, but I don't think he's bust worthy.

Who was that guy from Oklahoma State who dropped on draft day but insisted in his contract negotiations that he was still a first rounder only to play like a guy who should have never been drafted?

I have to give some leeway on 3rd round and lower but those guys are good.

I hear ya, but I've got my cut off point one round later than you at round 4. I know this is cherry picking, but Jason Taylor, Montana, Terrell Owens, and Lance Briggs were all third rounders.

I need a ruling on this one. Former Bears' OT Marc Colombo was taken with the #29 pick in the first round of the 2002 NFL Draft. He suffered a dislocated patella & femoral nerve damage in a November 18th game his rookie season vs. the Rams & missed nearly 2 seasons with the Bears in 2003 and much of 2004 before getting waived in 2005.

Colombo resurfaced in Dallas at the end of that season and spent 5 seasons there before getting released in 2011, resurfacing in Miami & then retired a calendar year later as a Cowboy in 2012.

Is Colombo an all-time Bears' Bust?

Busty Female Shop Assistant: Is this some kind of bust?
Lt. Frank Drebin: Well... it's very impressive, yes, but we need to ask you a few questions.

THE 1970 NFL DRAFT

How about NOT getting Terry Bradshaw #1 in 1970 because of a coin flip after each team was 1-13 in 1969? And why did the Bears not draft again until the third round in which they also passed over Mel Blount? :x Correction....he was drafted one pick before the Bears pick, but whatever.

FAIL COIN! That coin had tons of potential. :x

This is a very depressing thread.

And now we have a GM who talks about "impact" picks coming in and contributing. His 1st pick I would hardly classify as "impactful" and his 2nd one had 4 starts in college.

This will probably be the most bumpable thread in board history.

Another Big Ten WR to pair with Terrell - David Williams from Illinois.
