His thoughts on Q are bad. Who really thinks that the Hawks should replace Q? Do you think the Hawks should fire Q too?

If the Hawks had lost that series with the Wings, he would have been on the hot seat. Not fired, but they certainly would have put the squeeze on him, maybe fired his assistants and picked the new ones for him. Now, of course, he's made three conference finals in five years, and he's two games away from two Stanley Cup Finals in four years. It's getting harder to make the case. He might be here a while.

But that is not what you said. You said no one that knows hockey thinks Q should be fired. shakes says he thinks Q should be fired. So shakes does not know about hockey?

I do not like Q for a variety of reasons most notably his near constant line flipping. I still can't believe how poor and inconsistent this team is on the power play especially given all the highly skilled players. It's easy to support Q now because they are playing well, but I stand by my dislike of his coaching style.

Do you think this team could be better with a different head coach? I don't.

I don't like the meatball knee jerk "fire the head coach" reaction from some fans. If its a guy who hasn't won anything or put together a resume of success like Wanny, Jauron, Lovie, Sveum, Ventura, Vinnie, fine. But an NHL head coach with Q's resume? Come on...

I'm sure it could, but is the coach who could make it better one they could reasonably hire? I guess they could get Bowman out of retirement.

In terms of known commodities, no, they are coaching elsewhere. I'm sure there's guys we've never heard of. I'm not saying replace Q at all, just responding to the scorehead saying that no coach is better than Q for the Hawks. They played one last round who took them to OT in Game 7 with a roster that's maybe half as talented.

Well, I know you know more hockey than Scorehead or I, and I agree there are better coaches out there. My impression was that Scorehead was saying it would be hard for the Hawks to replace Q with a guy who was known to be better.

Who are the better head coaches than Q? Babcock & who else?

Barry Trotz
Dave Tippett
Claude Julien
Dan Bylsma
Peter Laviolette

Trotz and Tippett are system coaches using below average talent to exceed expectations. So their success may be overstated. Bylsma might be a pick that's a stretch but he's a coach that's been screwed by a GM thinking defense and goaltending aren't important to win a Cup.

You could argue for guys like Michel Therrien, Ken Hitchcock and Randy Carlyle but I wouldn't.

Give Q credit for making the line change to get Kaner going. I like Hossa w/ Sharp and Hanzus.

Q is a great head coach & he may go down in history as the best Blackhawks head coach in history if he sticks around a while longer. Billy Reay was great but he never won the cup.

Bump.

Black Sox like scandal is brewing. Appears Q is attempting to throw Cup finals with blendered lines and Bollig getting practice time.

No shit. I don't understand the line changes at all. Wouldn't Q want to leave the lines as they were in the last game -vs- the Kings?

hopefully he's just trying to throw the bruins off and not seriously playing these lines. would be a shame to piss away game 1 with a stupid lineup

Ben Smith had the fewest minutes last night at 10:23. That's fine. 2nd fewest? Bickell at 11:43. Q's lost his damn mind

I actually thought Ben Smith looked pretty decent out there. Sure he's not a game changer but he looked a helluva lot better then bumbling Bollig, which led me to question why he wasn't in the lineup when Q was trying to send a message to Stahlberg. I know he isn't the physical presence Bollig is but I can tell you that he would have got that puck out of his zone in game 2 and he can play in any situation.

Onto Bickell. I was unaware that he played the 2nd amount of time of anyone on the team. Q, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING???? This guy at one point was our playoff MVP. Are you trying to drive down his market value during the offseason? This, like a lot of other things makes no sense.

Y'all ready to jump on the Fire Q bandwagon yet? The guy is a fucking retard and has proven it beyond a shadow of a doubt this series.

Kruger-Toews-Frolik? is that supposed to be a joke?

I liked that line in the 1st period but after Boston shut it down the rest of the way and he didn't adjust, I became increasingly frustrated. If Toews and Kane aren't together next game and we lose, I might put one foot in. I'm more on the Fire Kompon bandwagon, at the moment.

Per Toews, early in the day he learns they will be without Hossa.

Fast forward to pre-game. Ben Smith, the guy would would replace him, doesn't warm up.

Jamal Meyers warms up.

Hossa ruled out.

Jamal scratched, Ben inserted in the lineup.

Pardon?

I questioned Q's line changes last game, but in his defense, Kane & Toews have been awful so he was trying something different to shake things up.
Hawks will win the next 2 & Q will become the greatest head coach in Hawks history.

Yep, Kane and Toews were awful when they played together in game 5 vs LA and Kane had a hat trick. Just awful. I can totally see why Q split them up for game 1 vs Boston and then didn't decide to put them back together again till last night when they went out and produced 3 goals.

Scorehead, you're an idiot, you should probably just shut up now.

Other than game 5 vs the Kings, Toews and Kane have been terrible. Unless you live in s cave, every Hockey analyst has been talking about this. Q was lauded for many of his line changes in both the Detroit and LA series.
You do realize that Q is the winningist active head coach in the NHL, right? If he wins another cup with the Hawks, he will go down in history as the greatest had coach on Hawks history.
Maybe you were an Alpo or Bob fan?
I won't call you names because mature adults don't do that.

You think its a coincidence that the Hawks 2 best offensive games during the LA and Boston series have been when Toews and Kane have been together then? It was a bad move to split them up starting this series. Dont know how you and Q cant see that.
