What is there to deny. It is right there in black and white in the story you quoted. Despite your highlights, the point of the article is that it was a good signing that he thinks will work out. It hasn't and that signing is a VERY signficant reason for the Sox lack of success. This puts him in a difficult postion in mocking others.

No, it doesnt.

It says IN BLACK AND WHITE, he MIGHT be able to live up to the contract for HALF the time.

and Kenny didnt write that article btw.

Oh and again, this is not a team that has been put together with a lot of advanced stats. So your whole premise is flawed.

Then what are you quoting it for other than to support his statement.

Oh, and it says "at least the first half", which means, the bare minimum but open to it being more.

dolphin: Sabr guys love Dunn

rpb: No they dont anymore and didnt at the time of the signing. Here's an article full of reasons to doubt him that concludes the best he could do is live up to HALF of the contract.

dolphin: They love him

To show you how the SABR community had cooled off significantly on the Dunn love.

Because remember, you started this saying Dunn is a Sabr hero

Read the conclusion that he is drawn. It is simply not a cool response to the signing. It just isn't

RPB: no they didn't and here is supporting evidence

good dolphin: your evidence doesn't support the conclusion that you have drawn

RPB: it is if you read only the passages I selectively highlighted

So, saying a player has a chance to live up to half his contract is an endorsement of the signing?

Ok.

I look for a little more than 50% at best in FA deals, call me krazy

except it doesn't say that

If I say I am going to eat at least half a dozen hot dogs at one sitting, that is not a statement that I will only be eating half a dozen, that is a floor with an implied projection at more.

Fucking Gimenez swings at a questionable 3-0 pitch that he pops up on the infield. These assholes are so fucking turned inside out at the plate they have no idea what the fuck they're doing.

Pretty sad when Quintana can't get through even 5 innings vs Houston. A hit here and Houston can break it open....

What's worse, the Sox "offense", or the Blackhawks "power play"

I have no idea how that ball made it to the outfield but it will look like a screaming line drive in the box score.
