i think a MUCH better route is the homerun HDHR3-us. it will stream ota tv to your computer on your network, so no wires are needed on the client pc.

The reason why I bought the Hauppauge was to try it out on transferring some video footage. I have an older DVD recorder that I use from time to time. But it gets to be a bit of drag to break out a new disc for every project. Then, you have to finalize it and rip the DVD. I used the Hauppauge with a Dell laptop and that seemed to work okay. The problem with a PCI card is one of my Dells that is running 7 64 Bit is low profile, so a standard card is not going to fit in that one.
