The experience that the core got from that year helped in this years playoffs. Without it I don't see them being able to recover against detroit. They would have gone in their shell and lost after that overturned goal.
yeah, even tho i'm 99% sure that overturned goal happened in a would-be-elimination game so my saying this is kind of superfluous nonsense: i think that was the moment where these hawks turned the corner and established themselves as a championship team. it woulda been so damn easy for them to be shell shocked and blow that game/series.... the other point that stood out to me was the game where they blew the lead with ~9 seconds left in regulation and then came back and won in overtime. again, idk if it was a would-be-elimination-game but had they gone on to lose that game/series, the term "9 seconds" would have been etched in the chicago sports fan's consciousness for decades. those two moments showed the kind of resilience that we often attribute with champions, and rightfully so.
otherwise, i don't have anything earth shattering to add to the consensus that 2010 was technically a better/more-talented/deeper team but the 2013 team was more "together" and "teamy" than them. if this were an all-things-equal matchup in NHL 2013 or something, i think that 2010 team has the higher OVR rating.... but this team showed more, dare i say it, TWTW than that 2010 team.... granted the 2010 team had that miracle finish against columbus or nashville or whoever, but this team had the two aforementioned games where they overcame late adversity (overturned GW goal late in regulation facing elimination, giving up the lead with ~9 seconds left in regulation) not to mention coming back against boston when they were up 2-1 and looking like worldbeaters, especially after they barely squeaked out that one win in a 3OT thriller where it felt like they were gonna lose for the ~50 minutes of extra hockey.
