Every aspect of the offense is different. O line blocking scheme, play calling, formations, plays, timing, etc...

The o-line should be different they have 4 new guys on it. That isnt coaching that is a GM finally getting some decent talent. Nothing else struck me as radically different. Same team, different coach.

I'm glad some of you guys are out there saying players are the reason for wins/losses. When the team finishes 6-10 or 8-8, don't be blaming Tresty.

  During the Rams game, I saw Jeff Fisher wildly trying to quiet the fans down. Seems like the fans are stupid there too.

I kind of consider the long field goal a hallmark of the Lovie era. Sure 58 is far, but the guy seemed to play for FG.
Not a 58 yarder. It wasn't until Gould had been around a couple of years before Lovie even let him attempt a 50+ yarder.

Correct.

dolphin, I don't think you've made anaccurate point yet in this thread; sorry friend, i don't revel in that.

Everything starts with leadership, whether its a company or a sports team. Leadership matters. The head coach will always get the credit or the blame.

It appears that the Bears players have gotten over the Lovie firing!

I'll try to lift the veil for you guys in small increments so that your eyes have time to adjust to the light.

I wonder if Doug Marrone game planned bland in the 1st half?

Slow your roll there, mr threadstarter. Gould did not make a 50+ yard FG until 2007, he attempted 0 of 50+ in 2005, 2006, and 2008, and attempted a grand total of 17 FG kicks of 50+ under Lovie.

As I said, Lovie might not necessarily have opted for that long of a FG regardless of it being near the end of the half.

I think Trestman game planned to score more points than the Bengals, which is exactly what happened. I don't get why it matters if it seemed bland or not. If the Bears can beat a good defense by playing "bland," I suppose things can get only better once they unleash the more creative packages.

I think everyone acknowledges that Gould magically developed a much stronger leg as his time with the Bears went on. You could verify this with his touchback percentage as well.

Ok? Many times, strong Gould leg or not, Lovie punted instead of kicking 50 yard FGs. I am still correct on that point, and I'm not sure why you are trying to argue with a proven fact.

The SCORE is dominating the ratings.

Great leadership?

Isn't the new offensive line coach/coordinator highly respected for his o line coaching and scheme with the Saints?

Don't much give a damn if anyone else agrees, but listening to Trestman's monologue, I like this guy a ton .... just information and information, rather dry, no fucking around, no acting like everyone else is a dumbfuck for even asking a question, congenial and not smarmy .... not saying that makes him a great coach, but it doesn't make him any worse of a coach either.

1-0 makes him a great coach. Everything else is just something to talk about during the off season and bye weeks.

Can you picture what a question to an average coach would be about the 46 man roster each week? Tress gave about 60 seconds on it. Most of the time that would have been a 6 word answer if the question was even answered.

It will be interesting to see if this verbose trend remains as the season goes along.

Yesterday before the game I was telling my wife, I said, "Wife, you know this Trestman guy, I'm worried about him. He's too nice a guy. Nice guys finish last. You can't compete on an equal plane with guys who don't feel the need to be nice."

I was going to post some comment or another... then had this epiphany: If you have to argue about the definition of trolling, the troll is winning..

Fuck it, I guess I am wrong...I mean, who else could have told Cutler to go out there in the second half and throw to Brandon Marshall any time he got into trouble. Additionally, those 3 yard runs were as flawlessly designed as I have seen on an NFL field.

So now I've been wrong about Mc Clellin and Trestman, which leads me to wonder what else I might have been wrong about on this board.

I haven't heard Elmhurst STeve call in with a lame " In Marc Trustman we trust" or something to more than 1 radio show, so thats quite a bit different.

Dolphin? Dolphin! Why is he running, Dad?

Because we have to chase him.

He didn't do anything wrong.

Because he's the hero CSFMB deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So, we'll hunt him, because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A Dolphin.
