Wait - the batter swung at a pitch and looked at the pitcher the whole time?
I take everything back. This guy needs to be banned for life.

Does McCann police the style of swing a guy takes too? I mean, Gomez actually swung too hard on the first pitch? That's one of your angles here?

Thank god McCann never caught when GlenAllen Hill was up.

Sheffield would have had to kick McCann's ass 14 times a game.

He wasn't going to truck anyone. He couldn't hide behind his teammates fast enough.

Brian ParkmcCann is 6'3 230+. He is a big boy of a catcher.

you can hear in the audio that McCann is telling Gomez to “fucking run” and then gets in his face on the basepaths after he (shockingly) doesn’t like being told that.

Gomez is a loose cannon, but McCann is the biggest Tool of Ignorance in the game.

I would like to apologize first to the fans, MLB, my teammates and the Brewers organization as well as the Braves organization.
The way I carried myself on the field is unacceptable, I should have done better to control myself and set a good example.
In the heat of the moment I let my emotions get the best of me. As did Keyser Soze. As a professional athlete I have to respect the game.
I should have not let the situation escalate. I would like to put this behind and do what I love, and that is play baseball at 110%.
Again my apologies to everyone that I may have offended I truly regret it. Thank you and have a good night God Bless.

McCann probably choked on his icehouse and dip after reading that....provided it didn't interrupt his Duck Dynasty re-run viewing.

Some backstory. RT @Chief_aka_James In 2010, Gomez took Maholm deep. Next time up, HBP. In June, Gomez took Maholm deep. Next time up, HBP.

Keyser Soze has the strangest ideas about baseball I've ever heard. He's furious at a guy for "swinging hard"? Ridiculous. Look, when I first started watching baseball a guy was probably going to go down the next time up just for hitting the home run in the first place. But those days are long gone. All these guys are making millions. Are they really supposed to hit each other in the head? And the pose Gomez did at the plate? It's nothing a thousand other guys haven't done. The days of putting your head down and running are gone. McCann should be suspended a week for sure. What he did was absurd.

Carlos Gomez did a pretty good Derrek Lee impersonation as he was attempting to throw elbows, but hiding behind his fellow teammates/coaches

I'm so sick of McCann. He came off like a huge peenus with the Jose Fernandez stuff, too. Hoping my Cardinals will face Atlanta in the playoffs. Maybe Trevor Rosenthal can introduce his fastball to McCann's earhole.

Mentioned recently when the Marlins pitcher did it, but I absolutely love the bat toss/staredown posing. I can't youtube at work but someone gathered the best home run posers over the past few years and put them in one video.

That would be stupid. No reason to do that in the playoffs. The Braves throw the first salvo, different story. But no reason to plunk McCann in October just because he is an asshole.

Wait until the spring or next regular season to do that.

McCann is going to be 30, will command a shit ton of money and has a very very structurally questionable shoulder.

He's a good fit for the Sox, but his health is obviously a big issue. If he can't catch anymore, he's kind of just a guy.

Peenus.

Although if JORR is right and Robin gets replaced by Jose Valentin, I smell another White Sox World Series Winner.

I think they were both peenuses. Nothing wrong with staring at a HR, but no need to scream while jogging around the bases. McCann could have jawed back, but no reason to block the plate like that either.
