Not yet, but that author's credentials are about as valid as an Evil J.A.C.K. social work license.

Are the Jets gonna threaten to sue Belichik because he said they cheated this past Sunday?  Because he did the exact same thing - he said they cheated.

"Slander" - that's a good one. Did Tiger's attorneys really say they were gonna do that?

Chamblee had to say something so he wouldn't lose one of his gigs at Golf.com or GC, not because of a lawsuit. I'd love to hear the judge when somebody sues somebody else over a cheating accusation within a sporting event.

I think a Billionaire's lawyer could probably make anything work.

You seem to underestimate the reach and impact social media and public outcry has on sponsorship deals. It will never be anything you nor I have to deal with, but if enough idiots start boycotting products that sponsor a "cheater", that could be a huge financial impact.

NFL teams/players/coaches have sponsorship deals too. My question still stands - the Pat's coach accused the Jets of cheating this week. Is Belichek open to a lawsuit because of that? It's still sports (shut up douchebag), there are no legal grounds to sue somebody because a commentator, opponent, etc accuses them of "cheating". If there was, it would have happened before. The league/sanctioning body controls that stuff. If the PGA thought his report card grade ( ) was a big deal, they could step in and tell Golf.com or the GC to have Chamblee reprimanded. There are many ways for leagues to do that.

You overestimate Brandel Chamblee's reach and impact. Nobody should care what his opinion is.

If nobody should care about his opinion, then why does he even have a job? Because people do care and that opinion is aired on the far-reaching arena of a national television station.

My guess at what case Tiger's camp might have -- if any legal action were to be taken, which it probably won't -- is just a guess. To your question about Belichick and Ryan, I have absolutely no idea. Maybe? Perhaps?

People have filed lawsuits for much milder offenses. Like the Bears' offense.

Yeah, but that's a slam dunk.

The best defense that Tiger's lawers would have is to tell their client to obey all of the rules of golf so this isn't an issue in the future.

It's interesting how quiet Tiger has been through this. He comes off looking fairly good imo

Even better, they should advise him to quit golf altogether. He'll never be as good as he once was, anyway.

If he quits, the Perkins discounts go away.

He's been good, just not great.
