I warned you that unlike most physical runners, Lacy gets worse with more carries both in game and in season. Remove the Bear game, as I think we can all agree that they are historically bad at run stopping and Lacy gave you a 3.0 YPC in 4 November games

Over the last 5 games, Eddie Lacy is averaging 3.1 YPC...nothing like Trent Richardson at all.

Eagles and Falcons are in those four games, so I think it is a representative of pretty middle of the road defenses but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. He is averaging 3.9 YPC for the season. Last year the average YPC league wide was 4.29.

Richardson played hurt last season and he still looked like he was worth a top 5 pick. I have no idea what happened to him.

Just trying to push buttons. For a late 2nd rounder I'm happy with the pick. Packers had issues with short yardage and salting away games the past few years. He's not flashy but gets the job done. One of the few solutions to the many Packers issues shithead Ted actually fixed.

That is how I see him as well.

Elections have consequences.

That's kind of unfair since Cutler was a rookie in either 2006 or 2005. I'll say this: I'm far more confident in the Bears' chances with the 2005-06 D and a 22 or 23 year old Cutler than I am with Grossman or Orton. I'm sure you know at least 98% of the success the Bears had in the mid-2000s was due to the defense.

I'm not trying to convince you that Cutler is some hidden gem of a QB despite statistical evidence to the contrary. All I am saying is that he's a step up above the Fitzpatricks, Hennes, Palmers, etc., of the NFL world, and probably in the class of guys like E. Manning, Big Ben, Flacco, and so on. That's not satisfying, but it's what we have at the moment, and the success of non-elite QBs like Manning and Flacco is sufficient evidence for me to believe in Cutler's potential to take the Bears all the way.

That being said, I don't think that will happen anytime soon due to deficiencies on defense, and I'm fine if he walks. I wouldn't be surprised if he finds success elsewhere, including a Super Bowl appearance.

I'm saying that the Bears were better the four years prior to Cutler than they were the first four years with Cutler.
He has a long way to go to prove he is on the level of Manning, Big Ben, and Flacco, and I'm not even talking about Super Bowl rings. I'm talking about leading teams to the playoffs and playing well in the playoffs.

That's damning with faint praise. You could say make the same argument by saying he's in the class of Hostetler and Dilfer as well. I would also remove Big Ben from your argument. Cutler is a step down from him (when healthy).

He was a lead back for Alabama. That means that by his junior year he'd taken 750-1,000 shots on the field & God knows how many off the field. There really has never been a great (NFL)RB out of Alabama, possibly with the exception of Shaun Alexander.
