Did anyone else catch this on HBO? OMG, its fucking awesome. Only watched the first half hour, will watch the rest later. First ep is about horrific sports parents. They are so awful its impossible to figure out which one is the worst. Each scene you say ok that guy's the worst, but then the next scene they show a different parent abusing his kid and you say nope its that guy. For the record I think the worst is the golf dad because for one, his daughter is about 9 years old. And on top of that she's pretty fucking awesome yet he is absolutely ruining her with his attitude. Golf is one sport where your emotional frame of mind is more important than any other sport. You can't play golf mad, not if you have any hopes of being good. Yet her dad is constantly freaking out every time she has a bad shot and its starting to rub off on her and she is starting to lose it as well.

But that said, the football dad is pretty bad too. Pretty sure his kid is going to kill himself one day...and he might be gay.

Basketball dad is also awful, but at least his kid is starting to rebel against him.

Tennis mom is just a straight out jesus freak, a whole different level of fucked up. Her kids will either buy all in to her insanity or grow up to be school shooters.

Its HBO so I'm sure it will be on 10 more times this week, highly recommended.

Is the agenda to make the parents look bad or do they sort of just present things as they are?

Both.

The fact that these parents agreed to be part of the documentary shows just how clueless they are to their own disgusting conduct.

At the end of the show they are going to have a round table discussion with Todd Marinovich...I'm sure he will have some lovely things to say about the parents.

To me the worst one by far is football dad. He's clearly the most intelligent and sophisticated of the bunch. He's just a straight-up control freak asshole.

The golf and basketball dads are uneducated morons who think they are giving their kids a better life than the ones they had. And what's up with those frosted tips on basketball dad?

The tennis mom is some hippie-Christian weirdo. Her kids weren't that good and it seemed like she came to terms with it at the end.

This was pretty interesting. Could be a good series to follow, although I am not sure what the next topic will be.
I'd have to agree with JORR that the football dad was the worst. I've seen parents like the basketball dad before
and at least the kid could speak up a little bit. I felt bad for the little girl golfer. She had a nice swing and was
just a little kid for crying out loud. The dad looks like he's never picked up a golf club in his life.

Yeah, but I felt a little sorry for that dad too. He's obviously not too bright and it's kind of heartbreaking at the end of his segment when he says something like, "I love my daughter but I can't let her know that until she's as good as she can be." He is trying to do his best for her. He's just read too many Earl Woods books that show you how to make a kid a great golfer and a reprehensible person.

The football guy is smart enough to know better. He's just one of those guys who is going to show his kid- and everybody else- who's boss. The kid quit the high level team and moved back with mom and now the dad won't talk to him. He just couldn't stand it that he couldn't exert absolute control over the kid. He sort of reminded me of Kenny Williams.
