Vegan, you're one of the best sports posters on this site, but why so serious?
Stop and smell the roses. The Bears havent drafted a WR this good since Bush 1
I agree on Jeffery, not so much on Vegan.
To be sure, Jeffery is the goods, and I'm glad that he's on the team (for both this year and next year). I'm just ruing the outlook of the 2012 draft class, which brings me to GD's point:

I am as tough on Bears draft picks as anyone on this site. I'm not sure how to evaluate that draft two years out. They drafted a guy who has quickly reached the level of elite WR. That really cleans up a lot of mistakes, and admittedly those mistakes were very big with Mc Clellin, Hardin and Rodriguez. They also drafted Frey, who has been a decent nickel.
Jeffery being this good may allow us to better absorb the sting of busts like Hardin and Rodriguez, and the disappointment of Shea, but fair or not Emery has to hit more often than not in these drafts. Drafting better was one of the directives that led to his hire, and even if Frey turns out to be an unspectacular but solid player, missing out on impact players in rounds 1, 2-3 is going to hurt. It's already hurting this year with the lack of depth on defense, and for that I don't think we can forgive Emery for 2012. We'll see how he does moving forward, and it looks like 2013 may be an improvement.
