I'm not sure anyone has made definitive statements, but strong opinions are obviously the most prevalent on subjective topics. Let someone tell you that Nas is a terrible rapper. I doubt you'd respond by saying "I respect that opinion. Art is subjective." Idk though, maybe you would.

To your first point, it sounds like you are just making shit up at this point. Carlin was a classical satirist. Of course he wanted to be insightful as well as funny. You're trying to act like those are mutually exclusive.

To your second, want to be more specific? I think Seinfeld is a terrible judge of comedy if he thinks Leno is actually the best comic in the history of comedy. You're acting like it's unprecedented for someone to be a terrible judge of talent in an area where they once(or still do) excelled as a performer. Maybe you haven't followed Isiah Thomas' or Matt Millen's post-player career.

Seinfeld is also a fan of Abbot & "Let Me Steal Curly's Act" Costello.

I've never watched Leno's stand up. I cant imagine why I would search it out based on how awful and unfunny he is on The Tonight Show. Seinfeld has gotten less funny to me as the years go by. I've tried to watch the new interview thing he is doing and it just does nothing for me. Not funny.

EDIT: Seinfeld the person/comedian has gotten less funny. The old Seinfeld show is still hilarious.

I haven't seen it but I can see Leno being more funny on stand up. He was ok on Letterman early days and his stand up gives more freedom than the older tonight show audience and FCC. Like Bob Saget I was like holy shit this is the guy from that family show.

I'm ready to fight that one. Give him a little help and he's ready to roll. It's hard to call a guy a loser that has made it to the playoffs every year that he has been in the league. Lebron can't say that. Hasn't won anything and to be honest I don't think he will before he retires. I don't think that Charles Barkley is a loser nor Dan Marino either. Winning in a lot of cases is product of who you play with. That is my basic argument on the Carmelo front. Lebron James ran to play with one top five the other a top ten player in order to get a ring. He was getting bumped in the second round of the playoffs and he saw that he could not win with that collection of bums. Durant won't win anything without Westbrook does that make him a loser also?
