That's ironic.

I dont know what to tell you, Hawg. Certain parts of the country value certain things. Mormon values go over better in Utah than New York.

No, it was the comment about southern businnesses staying in the south that I personally didn't like. Still think it is a very close minded statement, but life moves on.

Well, I should have worded it better.

I wish companies with these kinds of values, would stay where they originated no matter where it is.

So BRick we'll just ignore the fact that you're a hot and heavy conservative who's busy defending the rooftop owners. Do you bother to think things through before you post them?

Just because the president of a company is a d-bag doesn't mean everybody is. Wal-Mart is a complete pile of shit in how they run their company, but it doesn't stop me from saying the people I deal with there on the local / store level are good people.

This is why the politics section of this board is a cluster fuck. Nobody can make a statement that doesn't completely fall in line with "party", and any failings of your chosen party don't matter because they are your guys and that's that.

Are you insane? I'm not a Conservative. I defend the rights of the contract holding rooftop owners. I've explained that to you once.

The owners of Wal-Mart franchises would be complicit with the company ideals. Now, I know Wal-Mart doesn't have franchises.

It's not that the guy at the top has ideas. They have actively engrained anti-gay rights as part of the company policy. Chik-Fil-A actively pronounces they are against gay rights. Most companies would have said that the views are of that person. Chik-Fil-A has chosen to embrace it in order to sell more chicken sandwiches to others who are anti-gay rights. Your friends are profiting from anti-gay rights propaganda that Chik-Fil-A is actively incorporating as you can see from my quotes above.

This isn't about politics. It's about you being a hypocrite. You can't stand many of the ways Republicans think, and you are right, but you'll support and defend people you know who are also supporting and profiting from an anti-gay message.

The irony is that the people who are construed as being hateful because of politics are the same people who are generous enough to feed stranded people for free and let them sleep in their restaurant. I don't think the owner of the restaurant believes anything different than the CEO since in the article he talked about what they did as a restaurant being one of the core values of the company as a whole.

“This company is based on taking care of people and loving people before you’re worried about money or profit,” Audrey told me. “We were just trying to follow the model that we’ve all worked under for so long and the model that we’ve come to love. There was really nothing else we could have done but try to help people any way we could.”

I wonder if they let gay couples bunk together if they were stranded.

No way. They probably wouldn't give any fresh food to the gays. They might get some cold fries, and sandwiches that have sitting around for a while.

I don't think that's true at all. Just because the CEO and probably most of the people that own restaurants in the chain share traditional family values does not mean they hate gays or would discriminate against someone who is gay who is coming there to work or eat.

The gay rights activists have made everything about gay marriage black and white. They're saying essentially if you don't support our position than you are a bigot and you don't deserve to have a job or have anyone eat at your restaurant. There is no convincing someone of their position. This is seek and destroy. Kill and conquer. Smear and defame. Threaten and harass until your opponents give up.

Catholics are against homosexuality but they also do a lot of work with charity. So you cannot honestly say you hate Catholics and Chick-Fil-A because they don't support a political position, but at the same time say they are doing good through their charitable work. It's all or nothing. Either they are with you or they don't deserve to live.

That's code for, "we hate the guys". Why can't you just own it? Gay bashers want to be big shots, and run their mouths, until they get called out. Then the victim card gets played. It's disgusting.

Quote:

Because that is the definition of bigot. You use the bible to excuse your bigotry. That too, is disgusting.

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/bigot

big·ot noun \ˈbi-gət\
: a person who strongly and unfairly dislikes other people, ideas, etc. : a bigoted person; especially : a person who hates or refuses to accept the members of a particular group (such as a racial or religious group)

Quote:
and you don't deserve to have a job or have anyone eat at your restaurant.

Who said that? Those that disagree with Chick-Fil-A's position on "traditional family values", simply boycott their stores. I haven't seen many organized protests.

Quote:
There is no convincing someone of their position.

That is hilarious, coming from you.

Quote:
This is seek and destroy. Kill and conquer. Smear and defame. Threaten and harass until your opponents give up.

That is a strawman of epic proportions.

They do charity work for the non-gays, so hating somebody for loving who they love is okay?

Since it is so easy to just change your sexual orientation, why don't you be gay for the next six months, and show those heathens how easy it is?

Find me one quote, ONE QUOTE, where somebody said that gay bashers like you, don't deserve to live?

It is unfair to condemn the thoughts and actions of a corporation like Chik-Fil-A. They wouldn't do that to you. As long as you are not divorced or want to marry in a way they find wrong.

Pickle you can take off yourself if they screw that up, though.

Fuck mayo though. I won't deal with that, and if they fuck up and slop that crap all over my sammich its ruined.

What does "accept" mean to you? Does acceptance of a person who identifies as LGBT require "agreeing" with their lifestyle? Or does "accept" mean "I don't agree with your position, but you're welcome to work at our restaurant and eat at our restaurant and we'll treat you just the same as everyone else."

There is jump between "I respectfully disagree" and "I hate."

The essence of equality is treating all people with respect. Equality doesn't mean that all contradictory positions are equally true.
