As a 49ers fan, neither trade excites me. They really need a backup QB, but Gabbert isn't the answer. Need someone alot better than that. As for Martin, I know Jim coached him in college, but you can't have him on the roster. The 49ers pride themselves on being a tough team, and Martin is far from that.

Gabbert is fine as a backup QB & he will finally get some real coaching & improve. I like Harbaugh trading for Martin. Nothing wrong with having some loyalty for your guys. This will probably be the best thing that could happen to Martin. Like a lot of tough guys, Harbough does have a soft side.

Before Martin had his troubles, he was a starting OT in this league. If he plays hard, he is still a starting OT talent and still young. They got that for a low round draft pick.

I told you guys 3 or 4 years ago that there would be an influx of college head coaches into the NFL who would be successful & that the way NFL football is played would change & the league would be better for it. The NFL now mimics the college game which is a more exciting version of football in my opinion. Sproles to the E A G A L E S is a natural fit & makes complete sense. Philly was my favorite team to watch last year & I cant imagine how fast & explosive they will be this year.
