Tickets have been either dropped in the mail for tomorrow, or emailed to everyone in the past 30 minutes. If anyone didn't get their tickets, please let me know.

There's still 1 ticket left, and perhaps 2 (someone is still in talks about picking up an extra). We had someone cancel in the past couple days. Extra raffle ticket to whoever guesses who it was first.

I will be giving away NSJ's purple polo to the winner of the trivia contest that I have. So bone up on your CSFMB history if you want this little honey.

Bump.

Just a reminder that the pregame hangout will be at Bottom Lounge. I'll be getting there at 3:00. That's the time they open, so I wouldn't plan on showing up any earlier, because there isn't shit to do in that area besides the McDonald's across the street.

Yeah, I'm thinking this could be amateur hour. The Bottom Lounge is too far away from anything for any 'bros' to show up, but it will probably be a pain in the ass for anyone taking Metra.

i went to a game on said weekend a few years back- to be fair I think it was actually St. Pat's day proper.....Beer Bistro was jam packed, it took me like 15 minutes just to get a beer

and yeah that last Metra train home for me, normally there's maybe 5-10 people on it, that day there were a million, obviously the majority were trashed

All tickets are now spoken for. See everyone tomorrow.

I'll be showing up to Bottom Lounge around 3:00.

au contraire mon frere, one of my bonafide "record spots" is a few mins up ashland (~15min walk) in dusty groove. it's due north of lake street roughly ~2-3 blocks south of division (on the lefthand side if you're heading north up ashland from lake street) and if you happen to collect rap records (*stares at e-moo*) you'll be able to find some great stuff ranging from the classics (treacherous three anyone?) to the hipster junk (jedi mind tricks, imu?). hell, that's the place where i nabbed both the organized konfusion self-titled LP regular version ($15.99ish) and the white label version ($9.99) and then the next week i was all kinds of LOL when i saw that they were selling another copy of the regular version of the organized konfusion self-titled LP for $50 (which makes me wonder if the one i got was a 2nd pressing or something, but i checked it out on discogs and the one i got seems to be an original pressing. not to mention you'd figure the white label extended version would be rarer, let alone more worthwhile cuz having the instrumental to who stole my last piece of chicken? is in and of itself worth some $$$, maybe even the ~$33.

(btw man, as i play that in the background now holy shit that beat slaps)

that's also the place where i was once forced to make an unholy decision between the pharoahe monch internal affairs LP and the blackalicious A2G EP. i went with the monch cuz i know that rawkus is out of business and that internal affairs / simon says 12" is beyond out of print and not even on iTunes because monch/record-label never cleared that godzilla sample so apple won't touch that with a 10 foot pole (unless monch/label have worked something out with apple in the last year or two)

saying no to blackalicious A2G = holy fuck what the hell is wrong with me because this is arguably the weakest song on there, or no wait there's another one between deception and alphabet aerobics (cut chemist 2 1/2min workout)] that's one of those nice happy "god bless all y'all let's raise up the community with this song" songs and yeah. whatever. yeah and a2g itself is technically weak too considering alphabet aerobics is some heavyweight shit.... you ever heard that song where the guy raps the alphabet on a flagrantly cut chemist beat that keeps getting faster and faster? yeah it's that one. fucking awesome. even off the top of my head i can remember UNIVERSAL / UNIQUE UNTOUCHED / UNADULTERATED: THE RAW UNCUT and just think about all of my fist in the air shit there.

yeah dont mind me (as y'all often don't) i just have these memories tied into various places and yeah.... good life, y'all.

Welp I'm here in the trenches and I can report a good time is being had. For the second straight year we have a celebrity in our midst as herb lawerence is here! The usual suspects are here (and bagels is mostly here. I'd approximate 75% as he's either in the bag or I want some of what he's smoking) Nas didn't sacrifice a reptile to grace his feet, IMU has a beard (srsly its a thing) and last.... but not least, Mr. Too Cool To Show Up To The Pregame Meetup Himself aka SP-MACKMAN made his fashionably late arrival a minute or so after tipoff!

Since he's kind of really a pretty fucking big deal, 1/3 of the group immediately/ish got up from their seats to go stand in the back corner with camps and gab it up. Mmhmm. Me herb cookie nas d-bag and some of the WAGs are actually watching, but hey when camps arrives ur either with him or not. He draws #s. He must be a movie star or something! =]

More info later as it happens!
