I'm amazed that he ever played in the league. I bet Steve Kerr could dunk over him.
Won a title with Houston as a player

He looks like one of those hipster guys on NBA TV who accidently got a chance to coach.

I'm certain Westbrook doesn't. I bet Durant at least pretends to.

this is clearly a game where one team with WAY more talent but no direction is against a team with WAY less talent but driven by a fucking master.

That's mostly true, but I think the Bulls lack of talent is overstated. They are a talented team. They just don't have a superstar scorer so it doesn't seem like it.

Augustin's gotta have more situational awareness there.

Noah was open for a dunk on that give and go with DJ, Augustin simply didn't bounce it into Joakim.

Yup. And to make it worse, he started back pedaling way behind the 3 pt line with a much taller defender on him and the shot clock going down to 0. Just a terrible play. Somewhere Nate Robinson was saluting I bet.

god i hate this websites servers. "webpage not available" and constantly long load times. i know big says its 'the best rated servers...' but hes wrong. this is the worst forum i know, its always dogshit slow especially when there are like 4 people on it at the same time. (slickdeals, on the other had, has like 300,000 active members and its always lightning quick and reliable)

Yeah, at this point, what does Thibs have to lose letting Jimmer play. Bulls look exhausted on the offensive end.

Yeah, I can't imagine he would be so lost on defense that it would kill the team. Dunleavy by himself isn't enough to help with our spacing issues on offense.

I'm not trying to be a contrarian here, it's just that I'm not an NBA expert, but if Sam Presti is agreed to be one of the better general managers in the league, and the Thunder have a clear top-down organizational philosophy, how can it be that the coach they hand-selected is a total boob? FavreFan? little help?

Ike, I was so hoping that the schedules worked out such that you could do a Hawks thread and I could do a Bulls thread for April Fools' Day.

Well, I don't know. I've never liked Brooks, and many smart basketball people have criticized him for years. Some of the lineups he was playing against Miami a couple years ago were just inexplicable. But continuity is a really underrated part of coaching success in the NBA, and I think Presti is worried about shaking up the team too much. But really, that's a weak reason to keep a coach who might be holding back the team from a title. I just can't think of a real reason to keep Brooks other than that.
