You know, with the way scoring is down, I don't get quite as furious with the sac bunt as I used to, but your guys have to be able to execute it. Come on! And doing it with two guys on seems dumb. I'd rather take my chances with three guys trying to get a hit to bring in that run rather than making an out on purpose just to hope the next guy might hit a deep fly. It's silly.

Games like this are where I see your point of view more easily in regards to pitchers. Shields didn't pitch poorly, but in no way can you say he pitched good enough to win. Both pitchers knew exactly how the game was unfolding and how little their margin for error was.

Totally agree. I'm against sacrifice bunts for the most part. But I can see it in certain situations.
