I would hope that the Bulls could assemble a better proposal than Houston or Dallas, but I don't think it ultimately matters.

Melo is taking these visits because he wants to be seen as a star in the same vein as LeBron. Whether or not he really intends to leave New York is a separate question.

I couldn't disagree more. What the Bulls have to offer is very unique and should appeal to someone who wants to win. They even have the assets to pull off a sign and trade without gutting their roster.

That's just not true. Thibs was an unknown rookie coach. Taj wasn't on the roster. Rose had never played at an MVP level. Noah wasn't a Defensive Player of the Year or an All NBA selection. There was no winning culture. Paxson had just attacked Vinnie Del Negro.
