This is just the defeated talk of a man that's given up on fried chicken. There is no substitute for excellent fried chicken. You've just given up.

If some chick gave you a bad blow job, I bet you wouldn't give up on that.

This actually exists?

Yes. Didn't Hawkeye once tell a tale of a chick who used a little more teeth than expected and woke up the next morning with some wars scars?

I haven't given up on fried chicken and I resent that you would think so.

If I know a place serves great fried chicken, I'm game...but if I don't have it on good authority that it's the goods, I'm not ordering it. Again, too much risk for disappointment. I've had far too many instances of soggy breading and/or greasy chicken.

Rip's...okay but the last two times the chicken was horribly dry. Can't argue with the price but not worth the long waits.

Lanuti's right across the street has great chicken and turtle.

Wedron Office has best chicken in the valley.

Lanuti's is fine but everything about this post is incorrect.

I've eaten at Rip's no less than 200 times and never had a dry piece of chicken.

The oil-soaked bread-insulated paper plates can prove it.

Lanuti's is fine but everything about this post is incorrect.

I was under the impression that Rip's was the undisputed....and still undefeated.....

Mentioned in the Leghorn Chicken, but they are pretty good.

Probably overrated because it's the trendy thing, but it's still good.

Yeah, he is a confused soul. He was fine with the first 2 and then he had to give us more thoughts, which were just bad.

Leghorn Chicken is opening a second location in River North in that old motel at Orleans and La Salle. I promise you THAT will be a hipster, wait an hour for a chicken sandwich type of enterprise.

I think the original on Western and Augusta will remain the hipstery one, with the downtown location being the touristy hour wait one.

If you're looking for places I've had poor fried chicken in the area, it's been so long since I've tried ordering it that I wouldn't be able to tell you off the top of my head...but if I sat down with a list of family restaurants in the greater Camanche/Maquoketa metropolitan area I'm sure I could give you some names.

If you're looking for places I've had excellent broasted chicken, Kalmes' out of St. Donatus and Flapjacks right here in good old Maquoketa are the first two that come to mind.

I've never been to Mulkeys...come to think of it, I don't think I've spent more than an hour in Rock Island in my entire life.
