A $5 bet was poised to turn into a $100,000 payday before the Indianapolis Colts melted down Monday night.

A bettor in the Delaware Sports Lottery picked 14 consecutive NFL winners against the spread over the weekend. His 15th pick would have turned the $5, 15-team parlay card into a $100,000 winner. Unfortunately, they took the Colts to beat the Philadelphia Eagles by more than a field goal.

I guess the question is whether he hedged his bet by putting $50k on the Eagles.

Most places these days dont even allow 15 games.

Cantor Gaming is so lame, they just dont even offer wagers with massive payouts.

Loved being in Vegas and playing 10 $5 10 gamers! Great Sunday! Then put in a few other wagers

What does that mean? 15 team parlays don't come in. They're kind of tough to hit. You realize that, right? Most people just throw 5 or 10 on it just for the hell of it. It's not like your gonna bet $1,000 on such a long shot.

Most I'll ever do on a 4-team parlay is $25. It's mostly just $10.

Wait a second. Colts-Eagles was the Monday Nighter. This idiot didn't find a way to put at least 50k on the Eagles to guarentee a big win? What an idiot.

Oh sorry. I din't read it. You said the same thing as me. But no kidding.

You fly out to Vegas if that's your only option when you have this type of money on the line. Draw the 50k on the credit cards if you have to. Borrow from close friends or family. Just scrape together 50k and get to Vegas. Once you explain it to them they'll know you can't lose.

Any hint of his old fastball is gone. Time to hang 'em up, Beardown. You should retire with Eli.

Why? I missed the response of the initial post. I was focused on the story and didn't read further. I caught it and admitted it. Sorry.

I never got people out with my fastball anyway. It's always been my change up. :P

Loan Sharks, Gold and Silver pawn! Get yourself on an episode. Just bring in the ticket! Call Merriweather!

1998, If U conn won the tourney, I got some big cash. So I hedged and bet on Duke, for my single largest wager ever. even thought it was just a hedge, still felt like it took cajones. So, I can see to a point where the guy is coming from, but you have to put something on the hedge!
