A $5 bet was poised to turn into a $100,000 payday before the Indianapolis Colts melted down Monday night.
A bettor in the Delaware Sports Lottery picked 14 consecutive NFL winners against the spread over the weekend. His 15th pick would have turned the $5, 15-team parlay card into a $100,000 winner. Unfortunately, they took the Colts to beat the Philadelphia Eagles by more than a field goal.
I guess the question is whether he hedged his bet by putting $50k on the Eagles.
Oh sorry. I din't read it. You said the same thing as me. But no kidding.
You fly out to Vegas if that's your only option when you have this type of money on the line. Draw the 50k on the credit cards if you have to. Borrow from close friends or family. Just scrape together 50k and get to Vegas. Once you explain it to them they'll know you can't lose.
Loan Sharks, Gold and Silver pawn! Get yourself on an episode. Just bring in the ticket! Call Merriweather!
1998, If U conn won the tourney, I got some big cash. So I hedged and bet on Duke, for my single largest wager ever. even thought it was just a hedge, still felt like it took cajones. So, I can see to a point where the guy is coming from, but you have to put something on the hedge!
