The truth is that his entire career was benefitted by Urlacher's presence. Briggs was the little brother and deservedly so for many reasons.
I view him kind of like Pippen, a career second banana who took every opportunity he could to bitch about his situation. Both were still great. Neither was as great as each thought in his mind.
The Bears season ended the day he took off to open a restaurant.
Any remaining doubt about the level of professional respect that Trestman received from the players was put on display for all to see.
They should have kept Urlacher last year, and not Briggs.
