He absolutely stole this year. He fully intended to steal which is the part I find unacceptable.

The truth is that his entire career was benefitted by Urlacher's presence. Briggs was the little brother and deservedly so for many reasons.

I view him kind of like Pippen, a career second banana who took every opportunity he could to bitch about his situation. Both were still great. Neither was as great as each thought in his mind.

The Bears season ended the day he took off to open a restaurant.

Any remaining doubt about the level of professional respect that Trestman received from the players was put on display for all to see.

They should have kept Urlacher last year, and not Briggs.

Didn't Trestman address that with some mealy-mouthed dissembling about how he doesn't ask why players want time off, but he does ask, but he trusts them to make the right decisions, and any decision is the right decision, and it's an opportunity for dynamic personal growth in an integrated synergistic setting and GAH I HATE TRESTMAN TALK FIRE HIM

You could make an argument that for the time MJ was gone, Pippen was the best player in the NBA.

I dont think you can really make that argument. Hakeem was, by a comfortable margin.

Still the point is that you could never make a real argument that Lance Briggs was a top 3 defender in the NFL. Hellava career and one of the better linebackers in Bears history, but not an apt comparison to Pippen.
