I'd be reluctant to give up picks for him. If the 49ers fire him, then great. You have to figure he is gone in 5 years and most likely less with Bears management. Teddy would shit his pants having that as a head coach and trying insinuate himself into football business.

Harbaugh is the only real logical choice. It will never happen but it's the right way to go. The guy's act may wear thin but he would make the Bears respectable again.

It would be so enjoyable to see a Bears head coach unload on Cutler.

I have a feeling that maybe just maybe the McCaskeys have heard and learned that they need an experienced football guy running the show. I think this time might be different.

First of all, it would be a 5 year deal at 6 million per year to get Haurbaugh.

No shit. Mannelly mentioned this today. He said if these stories are getting out now with the coaches in place, wait until someone gets fired. Then it will all come out.

Don't you get the feeling that Trestman wants to get fired? He wants to be put out of his misery. He has realized that he's in over his head. He doesn't want to quit. Cuz that would make him look bad. But he wants out badly. No doubt in my mind.

Why would he come here? He can pick any team. The team's a mess. Stuck with Cutler. Lame duck GM. Bad ownership. Think his time as a pariah in Chicago warms his heart?

I think he has just accepted losing and going to do shitty press conferences. Just like Jay. Its part of the job, they get paid a ton to do this, so they go and do it. They do the minimum, say nothing and collect a check on the way out.

Trestman isnt dumb. the guy is a lawyer and he traded bonds, thats not a bad combination, but none of that makes him a good football coach. This is like writers that sportsradio guys put on the air. Maybe they have some good info, but once the info is conveyed, they suck at entertaining,

Being a coach is about mindfucking your players. You need to be in their heads, making them think what you think is the most important thing is true. Yes, preparation is needed, planning, practice...it all needs to be done, but if players on a team see you are weak and one guy walks all over you, thats it.

This goes for business too. Its why many guys take over jobs as hardasses. You can always eventually be nice to someone, but if you just walk in being nice guy, someone will walk all over you then its over quickly as the boss. Trestman walked in as Mr nice guy from day 1...and thus had nowhere to go.
