Assuming the Bears beat the Vikings in the finale, they will go 6-10 on the year, only two games worse than last year's 8-8. As much as everyone has said Trestman sucks and is over his head, the Bears lost a lot of guys this year due to injury, when their offensive line was intact all last year. When the Bears won the Superbowl in '85, I don't remember them having any injuries at all, except McMahon during the regular season.

Here's a list of the guys who are ending hurt or missed at least two games during the season

Offense: Slausen G, Garza C, Mills T, Long G, Bennett TE, Marshal WR, Wilson WR

Defense: D.J. Williams, Allen DE, Tilman CB, Briggs LB, Conte, S, Fuller CB, Houston DE, McClellin LB, Washington DE

When you lose more than half your starters, no shit that you're going to be worse than the previous year. I think we have made this all too complicated, blaming this guy or that guy. The Bears won when they were healthy at the beginning of the year and should have gotten two more wins against BUF and MIA, but could not compensate for injuries because of no depth from the middle of the season on. When you have this many guys that went down, it's unfair to put it all on coaching.

I'll agree that the offensive side of the ball took some of the hit for having Jeffrey, Marshall and Wilson hurt at the start of the year.

That said, injuries are only one piece of the puzzle. They don't fully explain why the offense couldn't score in the first quarter for several games straight. They don't explain why the special teams have sucked all forms of ass, including penalties and poor decisions to run the ball out of the endzone. They don't fully explain why the defense couldn't stop teams from running up a record amount of points in back to back games.

DJ Moore??? You mean DJ Williams, right. Are you sure? Did Mary Tyler Moore or DJ Jazzy Jeff cost the Bears wins too. The coaching and gameplan are not NFL quality!!!!

The Arizona Cardinals have more injuries and 11 wins, going to the playoffs.

I think DJ Jazzy Jeff is suspect...

The Bears' lack of scoring goes back to the O-line being banged up this year. They couldn't run block effectively and didn't give Cutler enough protection. The line two weeks ago gave up 7 sacks to one of the worst defenses in New Orleans. No wonder that Cutler has become gun shy.

Had the Bears stayed healthy, they could have finished 9-7 or 10-6 with a playoff birth and no one would be complaining. Clearly, GB had the depth when they won it to compensate for injuries, while the Bears had no depth at all this year. We know that GB has drafted better than the Bears. So it's a dumb argument to say that the Bears this year should have won despite injuries like GB, when they had no depth and no HOF quarterback in Rodgers commanding the offense.

The Bears lost game 1 (when they were 100% healthy) to a mediocre Bills team led by EJ Manuel. They were going nowhere even without injuries. I think they'd actually be worse if Briggs and Tillman were out there right now.

The combined record of the opponents the Bears have beaten is 24-51, with not a single team at or above .500. They have zero quality wins, and some all-time losses that may never be surpassed for sheer humiliation. Possibly the worst season in Bears history, all things considered.

If the Bears lose Sunday, it will be due to the starting QB being out with an injury.

Injuries happen when your team is old. It isn't a shock when people like Tillman and Briggs go down.

I won't say they would have been markedly better but it is true the o line was a mess this year. Lots of moving guys around due to injury.

Cutler needs to be behind a brick wall to not be skittish.
