For all of Lovie's faults, he kept his player's motivated and never lost the locker room. I don't think he really used fear and control to accomplish that.

It wasn't how nice he was though. It was how stupid he was. Honestly, the things he tried were just dumb. The players had to be openly laughing at the things he was doing. Tony Dungy was a really nice guy too(unless you were gay) but he didn't treat players like they were on the first day of kindergarten.

Lovie took over for Jauron and didn't have an issue. Guys like Urlacher loved Jauron and somehow Lovie got him to respect and buy into his system.
