But his name continues to emerge in pretty much every hiring cycle, which isn’t a bad things for DeCosta. Especially if his annual renewal of vows with the Ravens results in a sweetening of his package from owner Steve Bisciotti.

One thing I'd worry about even if DeCosta was willing to leave right now is what would he do when Newsome eventually steps down? Seems like the Ravens GM job is his dream job from what I'm reading. He might not be worth grabbing anyway if he's just going to jet as soon as the Ravens spot opens up.

Baltimore as an organization has shown exactly what the Bears need. They don't have Aaron Rodgers or Manning at QB. They have had competitive rosters year after year after year and won Championships in 2000 and 2012. That is what I want running the Bears...never mentioned it before because honestly, I did not think they'd fire Emery.

I would venture to guess that a fair number of posters--and Bears fans more broadly--are familiar with DeCosta and his accomplishments given that he was considered a "hot" candidate to fill a GM vacancy when the Bears decided to go with Emery.
