Remember none many of the 143 people online right now work at the Score, because they could care less what listeners think.

Meatpants talking about being condescending to teammates and co-workers is a WYC moment.

I don't think Bernstein has ever brought an unapaid intern on the air to explain the value in getting Spiegel his lunch because he heard the guy was complaining about it from a third party.

The fact that Bernstein was lying. It cant be managment wants Marshall gone and the GM is in complete control of the roster. That is a paradox, no matter how you slice it.

Good for Speigs, he is a man today!!!

bernstein basically bigtimed 'em and said "I'M THE TOP DOG! YOU'RE THIN SKINNED! DON'T GET MAD OVER BEING WRONG!"

Hypersensitive was the call out there.

I wish Terry would retire so we can see what a success Bernstein would be without him.

This really isn't that hard.

Management said they wanted Marshall gone during the interview. Pace said that he would only take the job if he had total control to make that decision. They reluctantly agreed.

If Pace wants to put his ass on the line by keeping Marshall then I tell him good luck.

All may be very true...and I honestly do not care, but the fact is that B&B both stood out there grandstanding about Marshall being gone. "Done deal" Gone. Anyone who called in and or questioned this....including asking the legitimate question about "what if the new gm"...or "what if the new coach" ....wanted to keep Marshall.....and they were shouted down and called idiots. Now that this actually played out this way....well, now it is that they (ownership) have acquiesced and let the decision belong to the new gm. But everyone else??? They were idiots when asking that exact question "at that point". Again...I dont give a F. I am entertained by it all. :)

If this is true, then Dan was wrong

Didnt he emphatically say Marshall was "gone"?

He didnt say "unless they hire a gm who wants to keep him"

As it was reported here it seemed Bernstein was saying "No matter what happens, Marhsall is gone"

li'l danny painted himself into a corner by stubbornly insisting on two incompatible absolutes:

1) Marshall is gone no matter what.
2) A GM that had yet to be hired when he made Statement 1 has full control of football ops.

It seems like the Bears granted Pace the ability to at least consider keeping Marshall. Ultimately, I think he will decide to launch Marshall one way or another.

Bernstein was wrong if Marshall is on the team next year. Otherwise, this was probably all some technicalities.

Remember, Ozzie Guillen was KW's hire. JR simply suggested that he interview him even though he was never on his list.

I don't see the upside for Pace keeping the guy. So they go 0-16 next year. He's got a free pass. can only improve from there. worst case for him is they go 9-7 next year and then 6-10 the following year. better to go 0-16 then 5-11 for job security.

You think a losing record, even after denuding the team of talent, is going to be met with a pass from Bears fans? This ain't Wrigleyville

maybe i'm giving ownership too much credit, but I believe they're smart enough to not expect anything in 2016.
