I can actually imagine Mannelly's wife listening to the station and saying, "Honey, I really prefer you not be associated with this stuff."

This guy gets it.

WSCR management was more concerned with having an ex-Bear as a host that they chose to ignore everything else about him (experience, other sports expertise, etc.). They are now 0 for 2 in taking this approach with Hampton first.

Will he need to send out another release that he's not interested in the latest opening with many in the public interested in him taking this role?

That was a typical "Larry move"

He knew Mannelly was getting it and tells everybody that he doesn't want it so he doesn't have to acknowledge he was passed over.

Drinky did the opposite. He was begging for the gig on twitter.

 Mannelly is now on Larrys list of celebs who would "get it" ?

The problem with the midday show wasn't Mannelly. I think he just thought Speigel was a lame asshole and didn't want to be part of the terrible show and station.

i believe pat thought he would be bored after football so he took the job.

then a few months in he realized he had to wake up at the same time every morning and go to work. same thing. every day. and to make it worse he had to talk about the same thing every day with a buch of nerds. fuck that noise.

and admitting to that is not something you want to do, especially after just a few months in. so its just "hey guys, im out. no worries. peace"

The sports radio abyss has kicked off and spring is just 2ish months away. He got to keep himself occupied with football talk and now its time to start working on the golf game.

He's probably going to become the next Tom Thayer media wise. A fucking long snapper but that's Bears fans for ya.

I'm sure you're right, but I doubt the listeners would really notice. He's pouting about one thing or another most of the time.

If WSCR is becoming WSCRUBS, having Danny Indiana Woo-Woo Sox be the lead-in for Cubs games prolly isn't the best move...especially given how thin-skinned Cub fans can be and how trolly toward fan-bases he doesn't like DaMaNa can be (see: Philly Flyers).

I think that relationship (if there is still a good one left) would breakdown. Mac got tired of him towards the end. I don't know if both of their lack of interest had to do with what Mac was dealing with but it seems like there are some strained feelings at least for now. I don't know if it'd be good to put them together this soon.

You're kidding, right? Mac is a Cubs fan. As much as he's a fan of baseball at all that is.

I think Mac grew up a Cubs fan then switched to the Sox. I don't get the impression he's terribly passionate about either.

Mac's Sox fandom is probably built around convenient parking and concession stand options.

I'm hoping that Grimace gets whacked and Finfer replace him. I wonder if Mitch would let Mac pick his partner again?

Kee-ryst, haven't listened to this show in months, forgot what a sandy vagina Spiegel can be:

It's built upon the 1969 Cubs disaster

I wouldn't. He's not good at it. He picked Jurco but without Harry I think that show would have been bad. Spiegel is terrible. Finfer and Mac don't do it for me either.

So Pat is quitting because the only sport he knows is football. Wow. great hire Score. I knew that before the hire was announced, and I don't even work at the Score. Everyone involved in that hire should probably be fired. You can't be looking for a co-host every 6 months. Porky probably should be let go, and everyone get a fresh start.
