However, Pam is the best product out there of it's kind and the thin layer used in cooking makes it pretty damn safe. But it's kind of a waste of money when all you have to do is dab a small wad of paper towel with whatever cooking oil you use and wiping down your skillet. :wink:

Actually a good tip. If it's not freezing cold outside I usually step outside to do it. Shit gets everywhere and is kind of a pain to clean up.

I don't think I've ever used this stuff.
With Cast Iron cookware, I just oil it down after each use and wipe dry and it's pretty close to nonstick.

I know what you're thinking.....No real man would eat that shit as a snack. And you're right. Only women occasionally substitute a veg plate for lunch. But this snack is not as good as it appears. The celery, tomatoes and cucumber are fine. So what's wrong with the cauliflower, carrots and that vilest of weeds (Newman!) broccoli?

They don't have as much flavor raw. That's why you have to drown 'em in ranch dressing. Furthermore, it's taxing on the digestive system to break down raw veggies. Burning TOO much energy to produce energy! What to do?

Put 'em in a steamer for a few minutes (or boil) about half the time you would to cook completely. They'll still have texture and WAY more flavor. Only a dab of fattening ranch required. :wink:

That's a good idea. I used to avoid microwaves except to warm up liquids, but I've found that the gadget is WAY more economical and absolutely nothing is lost nutritionally. Even steaming sweats off a few vitamins.

Eat real food guys!
Highly processed and refined food has become the mainstay of the industrialized diet. In fact, over half of the calories the average American consumes come from flour, sugar, and industrial seed oils. These foods are not only virtually void of the nutrients we need to perform well, they’re also full of compounds that provoke inflammation and cause oxidative damage.

Here’s why that matters for you: inflammation and oxidative stress are like kryptonite for athletic and mental performance, and they’re virtually guaranteed to worsen your health and shorten your lifespan. In fact, many scientists believe that aging is essentially a process of accelerated oxidative stress.

So how do you just “eat real food”? It’s simple:

Here’s the bottom line: if you don’t get enough sleep or rest, you’re not going to perform at your best or be as healthy as you can be. I know this might sound so obvious it’s not worth saying, but a large percentage of people ain't sleeping or resting enough.

If you are a mixed drink guy, don't use anything sweetened with high fructose corn syrup. Nutritionist's believe that stuff is just as bad for your liver as the alcohol. It's a double whammy! Unfortunately, every soft drink on the shelf (besides Sierra Mist) and most juices are made with the shit because it's cheaper than sugar.
