Kathy the news girl is really swinging from whomever Steve was nutz. How long til Mac cuts her and brings in one of his own girls.

The Loop, the Drive, XRT, and Q101 kind of make up a spectrum, though the Drive is closer to the Loop now than I ever remember it being.


Steve Downes had a top 10 morning show for years and is the voice of Master Chief (whoever that is) in Halo. His nuts are estimable.

I'm sure Kathy Voltmer is going nowhere; I think she goes back before day one with management.

Yeah. I'm not shitting on Dan's work here. It's just that I don't rock out with my cock out on my drive in to work. It's difficult for me to make a case for listening. Alternatively, I generally dislike where the Score is at right now. The station could really use some Mac.

Honestly, I'd rather have him on the Score playing more music than on the Drive talking less sports

There was a while where they tried to incorporate more modern rock. They'd played new stuff by old acts -- "Beautiful Day," "Jaded," "The Rising," et al -- but started doing a lot of Foo Fighters and other horrible "active rock" shit. Then at some point they took a hard right back to not only their usual classic rock but softened up the playlist quite a bit to horn in on the Drive and XRT: the Loop I grew up with wouldn't have touched Fleetwood Mac or Jackson Browne with a ten-foot pole, for instance, but now here they are. At the same time, the Drive used to be too mellow for AC/DC or Def Leppard, but now they're on there, too.

Fucking consultants ruin everything.

I was poking around the DRIVE's website, to see if they have a podcast feed, and they have a "now playing" feed of song titles. I had to google "Point of Know Return" to confirm that's the actual title. Something to do with Jesus, or Einstein.

Do we even bother with a show thread for this tomorrow? I won't be listening.

My recommendation: if you can find a podcast download or archive, it's decent music to listen to while home making dinner and having drinks with the

I'm off to download one of Sini's Aphex Twin sets to cleanse my sonic palette; before I sprout a mullet and buy an '86 Camaro off of craigslist.

I guess they were hoping to keep their entire existing audience and then add a few of us sports guys to the ratings. I understand not wanting a huge turnover in the audience, but why not just get some smooth talking dude to spin tunes?

Now Mac is becoming Terry to me, a wasted talent.
