I like him and think he brings far more than he takes away. I agree with JORR and CH

Will Tallon be able to resist sending the 11th overall pick in exchange for Sharp?

I can see the Panthers trading down for a roster player now that they have a legitimate homegrown core of Ekblad (1st), Barkov (2nd), Bjugstad (19th), and Huberdeau (3rd), but Sharp for 11th straight up doesn't make any sense for them. I could see them sending #11 to Minnesota for Jason Pominville and #20, with rumors that Minnesota is clearing the decks for July 1st, and equally done with Pominville and Vanek but pretty obviously stuck with Vanek.

Shaw is a 3rd line winger. He's very effective at being a nuissance in front of the net. For much of this season he played center and nowhere to be found.

I like him and he has a lot of value at wing, but that role can be replaced easier than someone like Kruger. I'd like to keep him, but if a really good offer come in, it has to be considered. Locking up Saad and Kruger take priority.

Its almost like i posted that above. I seriously wonder why I bother anymore.

With Crosby setting him up he may score 50.

I certainly wouldn't call him untouchable and he may have to be moved, but I don't believe he can be replaced so easily. His goonish qualities are something that Quenneville- and the Bowmans- clearly find important to have on a team. They've used guys far less skilled in regular rotation seemingly for nothing more than "toughness". Sure, Shaw gets stupid penalties at times, but if he goes I believe his replacement, though perhaps not strictly at his position(s) (I would expect them to get some modern day goon on defense. They may even if Shaw stays.), will be a thuggish guy who gets far more and worse penalties than Shaw.

If they keep him, they should make Bickell watch film of Shaw and tell him evertytime you're not in front of the net like he is you're sitting next game.

What about Vermette? I'd like him to stay.

Vermette is real real gone. He's looking to cash in on one last big contract and doesn't seem to like high-pressure markets. I can see him landing in Dallas.

He knows what to do but he has become too much of a content pussy to do it. He'd stand in front of the net if it got a dog adopted but thats about it.

If they lose Shaw I have always envisioned Matt Calvert of Columbus being Shaw 2.0 with possibly some more offensive skill. I think its because I saw them fight each other during the 2013 season and thought they were clones of one another.

I'd love him to stay. He's going to want his big pay day though. He was 'only' making 3.75 per in Arizona. He's going to want a 4-5 AAV I'm guessing.

I agree...I'd like to keep him for the exact reasons you mention...still if something has to give, he's third behind Saad and Kruger.

I was hoping for a playboy bunny clad Cheryl Scott popping out of the Stanley Cup while a tuxedoed
Patrick Sharp sits at a table with a bottle of Cristal leering at her to be the cover. Maybe they'll save that for Homewreckers monthly.

Robin Lehner heading to BUF. Sounds like Lehner and Legwand to BUF for 21st pick. Pending trade call. Not official yet.

If Lehner works out that's a nice trade for both sides. Ottawa seems to always find a guy to give them good net play.

I'm surprised that Buffalo, king of the tank, parted with two first-round picks in this draft. This would be Long Island's pick (for Vanek) going to Ottawa, with St. Louis's pick (for Miller) having gone to Winnipeg. I guess they're confident in their pipeline and are ready to get serious. Good for them.

I don't remember what Lehner makes but I'm guessing less than Niemi would make in free agency. They have money to spend, so I wonder where they'll allocate it.

Mr. Carrie Underwood stays in Nashville for 8.8 over 2, so there's a center we can't add. Would have been a good move for Ramblin' Red Rectum to bring Carrie to town, I'm sure.

Lehner is at 2.25M cap hit for two more years and then he's RFA. So cheap with upside. I bet Sabres buy a veteran defenseman or 2.

#Blackhawks are working on a deal with restricted free agent Marcus Kruger. Sides are currently discussing terms.

Would like to think they also have Saad's contract basically in place, which would mean then the wheeling and dealing could then begin in earnest.

Francois Beauchemin be the guy they need. I worry about Oduya without a stud defenseman in Hammer/Keith/Seabs.

Ristolainen and Zadarov are the young core.

But Bogosian, Weber and Gorges as the vets. You can't have the purse snatcher Gorgers as the elder statesman. And you definitely can't have Bogosian as the guy they learn from. He's already an idiotic Bieksa #4 type so don't want him tainting those two with shitty habits.

The guys has been through everything from winning a Cup to living in the Toronto shit show.

How in the hell can a bum like Versteeg have the ability to veto a trade

Due to his limited movement clause in his contract agreed to by you-know-who that the Hawk inherited when they got Versteeg from Florida.

Don't know how the contracts look, but what if the Blackhawks can't trade Bickell and Sharp? Can they send them to play with Huet to get their contracts off the books?

I'm also not quite sure I want Darling or Raanta as the backup, but thats just my opinion.
