Cleveland also better hope that Kevin Love doesn't sign elsewhere. If he does then that trade which was made in order to appease James, will go down as one of the worst in history.
The trade was bad. Love was what most of us thought he was. That being said they hope he leaves. Cleveland is better without him.
They gave up the No. 1 pick in the draft to get him. Wiggins looks like a future all star. That trade was made at the behest of James. They made the finals without Love. That's a blow but even worse is the fact that you gave a future All Star to get him.
LeBron has the right to demand that Cleveland put great talent around him. He sucks at picking talent. Shaq and Ben Wallace are at the top of the suckage list.
His demands are essentially fallacious at their very core. What LeBron the budding GM hasn't quite figured out is the primary reason that Cleveland doesn't have better role players is due to the fact that he, Irving, and Love comprise most of the teams cap. He insisted on playing with star players which meant max contract guys. His insistence insured that there wouldn't be much money left over for bench players.
They are hamstrung cap wise. For all the talk with regards to San Antonio and Golden State models look at how they have handled the salary cap. I don't think there is one max contract guy between the two teams. That is why they both were able to have deep benches. GM LeBron would be smart to consider this as he makes his list of demands.
