I would assume Kane's attorney would be more than happy with "great lengths," after perusing the list above.

That's what I'm saying Quad.

You can put a barcode on anything. Is there something special about this one? Like a license or money would have a seal or hologram thing?

I'd be interested to hear more about this.

What do you mean?

It was just a thought I had before BF's post about a SKU. Everything is so nuts I thought it possible the lawyer could have a wrong or bag that wasn't the main bag to do something to change the narrative of two guys besides Kane's semen on the victim. I am really at a loss as to how this could happen and now the police claim they are unassailable. Someone is lying.

Seems an odd coincidence that just a couple days after a leaked ( but still unverified) story comes out with DNA exonerating Kane from shooting his load anywhere ( or not blasting semen for your benefit , Mike  ) which really hurts her case if true, that her team comes up with this.

I question the benefits of this going public.

It's not just the bag IMO (although it is a huge thing), it's the totality of the leaks taking place. The attorney is basically shining a light on the incompetent PD.

Probably similar to license plate stickers. The bar code would be roooeeeened if it were removed.

Perhaps went to Kinko's and printed their own evidence labels?

The barcode is unique. If someone found the barcode, printed out a second one, then put it on a bag and sent it ....could have happened....but to hold this presser and state this as fact, you better have gone to great lengths as stated to make sure you are correct in this simple statement.

Does give a bit of a feeling of a Lawer ready to lose and he knows it, thus blaming something else.

What do you mean "comes up with this"?

You think the accusers lawyer is pulling a scam here?

I haven't seen a picture that shows what type of markings they would have. If it was a barcode, it's not easy for someone to fake that. According to some people it had the victim's name blacked out. I'd guess it would have a Case # written down somewhere.

It would be a longshot for someone to fake an evidence bag. If someone is going to fake evidence, there are better ways to go about it than this.

Maybe they actually believe the PD is corrupt or incompetent and truly needs to be investigated?

The numbers on the barcodes are likely in the millions or billions, so you'd need to make one hell of a good guess on it.

Now, maybe the lawyer knew the number and is risking their career for this, but that would be discovered pretty quick when they go to the evidence locker and the bag is sitting there.

We should try reversing the situation here. How would Kane's attorneys handle it if all the leaks were coming out against him? Papers are leaking the results of the rape kit saying they found his DNA inside her. Then, the next day, the evidence bag shows up at Kane's mother's house. You can bet the attorney would be crying foul, talking about a PD that was out to get their client. How you can't trust the DNA evidence how it was compromised.

It goes both ways.

This whole thing has gotten ridiculous. While I tend to believe this was a Hail Mary from the prosecuting attorney, I still think Kane likely did something bad. He's an idiot. The girl is an idiot. The Hawks also look like idiots. I agree Kane should not be anywhere near the organization while the case is open.

I don't know. The most damaging evidence ( if true) to her case just popped up. 2 days later, this calls that into question. Maybe she has a better in to the easily corrupted police department than Kane.

oh, well, you have documents. fantastic. who needs rape kits or evidence bags when you have paperwork saying you have the rape kit and rape kit evidence bag.

and leading by defensively addressing the call for an investigation...not a good look.

"Unassailable" looks like a challenge.

Something simpler might've inspired more confidence in the 60 man suburb of a podunk town PD:

I assume the barcode was put on by the hospital or police. Hundreds of people can access that info and can give it to anybody.

Is this that important? If the lawyer did something and is found out that's worse than just losing an already tough case. Don't most high profile cases go this way?

Wasn't Kane's dna under her nails and on her shoulder? It possible his dick didn't work because he was trying to rape her or just too drunk. His dna being under her nails is a problem.

It sounds like she was raped or they ran a train on her in Kane's home. He was clearly a part of it considering his dna was on her shoulder and under her nails. I don't know anyone who runs a train on someone without condoms involved.

Erie county dudes statement. Take it fwiw , Kanes goons may have got to him too.

Later Wednesday afternoon, Erie County commissioner of Central Police Services John Glascott denied that any evidence had been mishandled or that the chain of custody had been broken.
“All evidence related to this case that was given to Erie County Central Police Services by the Town Of Hamburg Police Department is accounted for and remains in its original packaging in the possession of Erie County Central Police Services,” Glascott said in a statement. “This includes the evidence in the rape kit and the packaging itself.
“This evidence has been analyzed and reports of that analysis sent to the appropriate agencies.”
