ND has got to get away from the annual Navy-Army games, They need to Schedule A couple SEC teams.

Haven't played Army since 2010.

Navy is ranked higher than all but two of the teams from the SEC.

That's because too many people fall into the trap of believing that one loss teams are automatically better than teams with two or three losses.

What do you think Navy's record would be, if they played an SEC schedule?

I think OSU gets in with a Bama loss and quite possibly with a Clemson loss too. That would be a great debate on whether OSU or UNC deserve the bid.

While I've never particularly cared for UGA, I've thought that Richt is somewhat snakebit. He has lost his best RB for big stretches of the last two years (& bowls) & lost his star QB the year before that.

Welcome back to the Ray Goff era UGA (if they pick up Bama's DC)! They won one title in the last 70 years but still believe themselves to be on par with Alabama, Florida, or LSU. Hell, Georgia Tech at least won part of a title in the last 25 years.

I have heard some suggest Stanford may back their way in. I don't see it. There are too many strong one-loss teams.

Stanford has a very remote chance but not likely - it would take complete chaos.

Clemson, Alabama, and Iowa would all have to lose, and Stanford would have to pound USC, for them to even have a shot. I still think one loss OSU goes in before Stanford no matter what.
The more I think about it, OSU probably goes in over NC, if Clemson loses. Can anybody really make a case that OSU isn't one of the best four teams?

I do not agree that the ACC winner gets in no matter what.

UNC would need a couple things to go their way.

Oh, it's not a slam dunk. But beating a 12-0 Clemson team, who you said was the clear cut #1, would be a nice addition to the resume. I think OSU is better than UNC, regardless of who wins the ACC.

It seems to me that the four best teams are:
Alabama
Clemson
Oklahoma
Ohio State
