I don't know who makes their booze.

I do know there private label coffee is Starbucks.

Correct.

Kirkland Signature is Costco's premium house brand. Kirkland doesnt make anything, its all private labeled. I know a little bit about Costco's private label brand strategy because a guy I went to school with who was fron the NW went to work for Costco out of school. Their strategy is to have high end market leading brands private label their Kirkland products. Everything branded Kirkland is made by a high quality recognizable brand. You would know every single one. They have zero interest in cheap low end price leading brands. None. The dollars and volume is just too much for anyone to pass up. Its a win win for consumers who recognise this and dont want to overpay for the lablel.

By far the best bang for your sparkling wine buying buck...Image

$10/bottle at Binny's and Costco.

Quote:
Blanquette de Limoux is probably the oldest sparkling wine in the world. We know that in 1531, the Benedictine Monks of the Abbey of Saint-Hilaire were already producing Blanquette de Limoux which certainly makes it France's Oldest Sparkling Wine preceding Champagne by more than a century.
By 1794 Blanquette de Limoux was well known and appreciated throughout France. About that time, it was discovered by a famous American, Thomas Jefferson.

Among his other talents, the third American President was an expert on French Wines and Blanquette de Limoux, one of his favorites, was an integral part of his wine cellar. In fact, President Jefferson was probably the first person to bring the wine to America.

Today, Blanquette de Limoux has won the acclaim of knowledgeable wine enthusiasts throughout the world.

It is sold in the United States under the name SAINT-HILAIRE in honor of the monks who first created the wine more than 475 years ago. One taste of SAINT-HILAIRE quickly reveals why France’s Oldest Sparkling Wine is also its' best.

I tried kirkland vodka on Xmas Eve. It was okay but I like Ketel One better.

All sparkling wines and champagnes are alright with me. Start with them and end with them. I'll have to try the Saint-Hilaire one so thanks. Some of my friends are big fans of new age wine with lime or lemon. You can also stretch your champagne with cranberry juice and Cointreau but use the cheap stuff.

There are 2 Kirkland Vodkas. The very tall bottle of Kirkland Signature is the high end stuff. The shorter bottle of Kirkland is average. Which one did you have?

 I don't even drink vodka. I just know that Kirkland stuff isn't Grey Goose. If you like it, drink it, but don't repeat bullshit Internet rumors started by Costco itself. Costco has a huge Internet presence. I've related the story about how they had "customers" try to rebut my wife's review of their crappy Kirkland fruitcake. Costco lets the Grey Goose rumor get spread around out there without ever confirming or denying it.

Hey man, I am on board. Don't need some branding shenanigans to think I am getting over and saving a couple bucks.

I would like to know the difference between a ~$10 bottle of champange and a $25+ one.

I can tell. Because if you did, you would know that premium vodka is a complete and utter ruse.

I never said it wasn't. It's certainly not like a Bourbon or a Scotch where the differences are obvious. But as I said, I don't drink vodka. I'm certain there are regular vodka drinkers who would argue with you about the qualities of premium vodka. Be that as it may, all I'm saying is that Kirkland is not Grey Goose.

I couldn't tell the difference between $10 vodka and $80 vodka. Not saying some can't... I've just never been able to tell. Don't drink it much, though.

At a wedding over the summer there was a tradition where you had to have a shot of vodka (or many if you wanted). Naturally not to be a jerk I did several shots of Grey Goose. It was like a silk stocking going down my throat. Unlike my younger years doing the same with real cheap stuff that seemed like I was swallowing gasoline or razor blades.

I think you went to at least 97 weddings this summer.

It was a nice warm-up for the sexual deviance that would take place later that night.
