Kirkland Signature is Costco's premium house brand. Kirkland doesnt make anything, its all private labeled. I know a little bit about Costco's private label brand strategy because a guy I went to school with who was fron the NW went to work for Costco out of school. Their strategy is to have high end market leading brands private label their Kirkland products. Everything branded Kirkland is made by a high quality recognizable brand. You would know every single one. They have zero interest in cheap low end price leading brands. None. The dollars and volume is just too much for anyone to pass up. Its a win win for consumers who recognise this and dont want to overpay for the lablel.

I tried kirkland vodka on Xmas Eve. It was okay but I like Ketel One better.

All sparkling wines and champagnes are alright with me. Start with them and end with them. I'll have to try the Saint-Hilaire one so thanks. Some of my friends are big fans of new age wine with lime or lemon. You can also stretch your champagne with cranberry juice and Cointreau but use the cheap stuff.

I don't even drink vodka. I just know that Kirkland stuff isn't Grey Goose. If you like it, drink it, but don't repeat bullshit Internet rumors started by Costco itself. Costco has a huge Internet presence. I've related the story about how they had "customers" try to rebut my wife's review of their crappy Kirkland fruitcake. Costco lets the Grey Goose rumor get spread around out there without ever confirming or denying it.

I couldn't tell the difference between $10 vodka and $80 vodka. Not saying some can't... I've just never been able to tell. Don't drink it much, though.

At a wedding over the summer there was a tradition where you had to have a shot of vodka (or many if you wanted). Naturally not to be a jerk I did several shots of Grey Goose. It was like a silk stocking going down my throat. Unlike my younger years doing the same with real cheap stuff that seemed like I was swallowing gasoline or razor blades.
