Please break down as to how or why you think so.

You say stupid things and now you are fabricating. You did make the statement about Lance after all. Check the other thread. I pulled the quote.

IMU stepping in nicely for the role of Nas in the long time guy vs Nas debate . I though this might have to go the way of Good Times and just not replace John Amos but IMU has picked up the ball and is running with it. Unless of course, Nas is telling IMU what to post via clan chat.

I would think that Nas and I agree on most of this (except Lance Stephenson) but alas, he is laughing at long time guy. I need no assistance from nas, although Nas is a fountain of NBA knowledge.

long time guy - I was the BIGGEST proponent of signing Pau Gasol on this board. Nas was one of the most vocal against that signing when it happened.

Again...if you had trouble distinguishing us, it is on you.

I was also a proponent of signing Gasol. My views on him didn't change once he became an all star. We agree on that.

Let's talk some hoops.

Jimmy Butler's first half for the Bulls this season:

46% FG, 34% 3P, 83% FT, 5.8 RPG, 3.2 APG, 1.8 STL, 20.4 PPG.

"All-Star" "#1 Option" "Most Valuable" "Stud" "Max Contract"

Luol Deng's first half for the Bulls last season:

45% FG, 27% 3P, 81% FT, 6.9 RPG, 3.7 APG, 1 STL, 19.0 PPG

"Trade him" "just a guy" "Not worth $10M a season, let alone $14M"

Also keep in mind that Jimmy Butler's numbers come in a season where the Bulls have more offensive threats, making it hard to double team any one guy. Jimmy Butler is able to get easier shots based on Dunleavy, Mirotic, Rose, Brooks creating space while bigs can't leave Pau, Taj, and Noah down low.

I think it's high time to reintroduce these little nuggets into the discussion. For clarification purposes if nothing else.

I was wrong.

See? It isn't hard.

That goes without saying. You don't seem to get hammered for opinions such as this unless it's baseball. Your basketball thoughts are much worse though.

Except read the thread. People disagreed with me immediately.

None of us expected Butler to be this good. I thought he was going through an insanely good stretch. I was wrong.

But again...as long as I'm right more often...I don't think I can be / will be taken to task. As long as I can clearly write why I think a certain way with supportive evidence, most people will respect my thoughts.

long time savant, since at this point your hand is probably sore from repeated pats on your back, why don't you take a break for a minute and grace us with your top three basketball "thoughts" so we can publicly recognize you? So far I've got you down for thinking a career backup at 31 years old is over the hill and not a starter, and that a career journeyman who was drafted with the 55th pick in the second round is probably not a viable NBA starter. Riveting stuff to be sure.

I sure don't remember you making these points at the time Lance was considered "the way to go" and Taj could start "on most NBA teams". Its easy for you to make these points now but where was all of this analysis then? I was sort of an outlier on this stuff. I will say much respect due to JBills on the Lance stuff. Word is bond. He called it early too. If you go back and check the Offseason thread you will find that a number of "credible" posters were clamoring for the services of one Lance Stephenson.

1. Lance Stephenson
2. Taj. Gibson is a bum
3. The return of Rose. Obviously the guy is playing at a high level now.
4. Carmelo Anthony. According to Ian O'Conner Thibs is a big fan so that must mean Anthony is good.
5. I also called the Gasol signing early. Many "credible" posters wanted nothing to do with the guy. I believed (rightly) so in retrospect that he still had game left. Even some of the guys that liked him believed that he should back up Taj. UGH.
6. Milwaukee Bucks were garbage. No way a team coached by Thibs should have struggled as mightily as they did against that squad in the playoffs.
7. Bulls currently have 2 guys that could crack Cleveland's 9 nine man rotation yet you think they are talented.
8. Market for Thibs is not as great as guys on here believed it to be. There have been at least 10 job openings since the of last season and yet he is still without one. Reportedly he wants in now so what gives?
9. Butler's defense has slipped. Didn't need the stats. Eye test told me that. Only pulled out the stats upon the request of IMU, the John Dewan of the message board.
10. Noah should have been starting all season. Painfully obvious the impact that this guy has. Don't recall you advocating for him to play. Imu bashed the guy and yet none of the "credible" posters stepped in to refute. Shocking. Bulls slide has coincided with his injury.

This is what you call big time analysis.
