Your basketball thoughts are much worse though.
long time savant, since at this point your hand is probably sore from repeated pats on your back, why don't you take a break for a minute and grace us with your top three basketball "thoughts" so we can publicly recognize you? So far I've got you down for thinking a career backup at 31 years old is over the hill and not a starter, and that a career journeyman who was drafted with the 55th pick in the second round is probably not a viable NBA starter. Riveting stuff to be sure.
I sure don't remember you making these points at the time Lance was considered "the way to go" and Taj could start "on most NBA teams". Its easy for you to make these points now but where was all of this analysis then? I was sort of an outlier on this stuff. I will say much respect due to JBills on the Lance stuff. Word is bond. He called it early too. If you go back and check the Offseason thread you will find that a number of "credible" posters were clamoring for the services of one Lance Stephenson.
1. Lance Stephenson
2. Taj. Gibson is a bum
3. The return of Rose. Obviously the guy is playing at a high level now.
4. Carmelo Anthony. According to Ian O'Conner Thibs is a big fan so that must mean Anthony is good.
5. I also called the Gasol signing early. Many "credible" posters wanted nothing to do with the guy. I believed (rightly) so in retrospect that he still had game left. Even some of the guys that liked him believed that he should back up Taj. UGH.
6. Milwaukee Bucks were garbage. No way a team coached by Thibs should have struggled as mightily as they did against that squad in the playoffs.
7. Bulls currently have 2 guys that could crack Cleveland's 9 nine man rotation yet you think they are talented.
8. Market for Thibs is not as great as guys on here believed it to be. There have been at least 10 job openings since the of last season and yet he is still without one. Reportedly he wants in now so what gives?
9. Butler's defense has slipped. Didn't need the stats. Eye test told me that. Only pulled out the stats upon the request of IMU, the John Dewan of the message board.
10. Noah should have been starting all season. Painfully obvious the impact that this guy has. Don't recall you advocating for him to play. Imu bashed the guy and yet none of the "credible" posters stepped in to refute. Shocking. Bulls slide has coincided with his injury.
This is what you call big time analysis.
